Another writer only compared Paxton with Simien which was more on the favorable side.

Thanks! Looks like the Donkey fans are really sweating it... looking for a QB trade now...

Want Barkley for a 3rd round pick ?
I wouldn't be surprised if KC cuts Alex smith after this season and DEN picks him up for 2018

Foster had an impressive one handed INT and 3 total picks in the one defensive drill.

Our D is solid and our QBs suck.

Until Hoyer and Beathard fully prove it, this is my same thinking as well.

Same can be said about our defense too right?

The individual talent on defense jumped out last Friday. Haven't seen that in a long time. A handful of offensive players jumped out as well. But, Hoyer didn't jump out. Until he does this, with command, I will be skeptical of our passing game.

Defense didn't jump out till the 2s came in. Same with the offense

ATT's right, Alex could have passed on us all day long. When an INT was finally thrown...it was from Bray. Alex didnt play any longer than Hoyer did with the ones.

We're talking about preseaon lol coaches talk about what they want to work on and run vanilla everything.

Remember when we won every preseason game in 2010 lol

Just last yr in preseaon SF was top 5 in goal offense and 1 in rushing during the preseason

the whole vanilla thing is just an excuse. The 1st drive for the D was horrendous. That being said, they did have a potential INT dropped that would have stopped that drive. I don't put a ton of stock into preseason but I also don't put any stock into the vanilla excuse as to why a team looks like s**t

For the most part, the defense was in position. There were a couple missed tackles and one bad coverage along with one dropped INT. Didn't get the feeling that we were carved up at all.

Agree for the most part...however that first defensive series left a lot to be desired. But like you said there were a few missed plays here and there that could have changed things.
Any other news on Foster's shoulder??

Don't forget about the extra 15 yards on weak PF call and extra downs near the endzone on another flag

49ers general manager John Lynch was asked about Foster's injury on Wednesday. "I talked to him and like Reuben, big smile, said, 'I'm straight,'" he responded. "And, so he's good. He's straight."

When asked if the injury was serious, Lynch answered, "No, he's good."

dude so good he's also his own doctor

It's actually not an excuse and kyle was even talking about it last night on sirus lol.

You're not going out there and showing anything schematically for everyone to have film on you....hence everything is dumb down and vanilla.

There is zero correlation to preseaon wins and stats to what happens in the regular season...it's mainly for getting your younger players live snaps and helping to finish out the 53 man roster.

Thank god lol...let's keep those injuries at bay.

That also has zero correlation to our defense and what KC did on offense

And he's back lol

I agree. We won't really know what kind of team this is until the 3rd game of the regular season. Having said that, if our 2nd string is doing well but our first string isn't, it's going to be a long year. Our 2nd string won't be NFL ready for at least a year and then we need another good draft on top of that to keep the progress going. I think 6-10 or 8-8 is stretching it but not out of reach of this team with some luck.
