Sounds like ol' Mitch is rocking with the 3rd string and dirty Sanchez is clearly the backup so far in TC

Mitchell is best 3rd string rookie QB in the league.

My pt being is he might not have been the correct pick for the bears & he might not have been the savior that sickness has been proclaiming. Sure it's early but from what I've read he's having a horrible camp... FYI Mitch didn't have shoulder surgery and wasn't held out of OTAs. Mitch also wasn't the 31st pick in the draft and they gave up picks this yr and next yr on top of it.

Drafting a qb with an early first is always a gamble. Giving up future picks to get there just raises the ante. Early days though.

Yeah he's just a rookie QB with probably little to no understanding of the playbook. Im not saying I like Mitch because I don't; I think he will be an average player. But god damn wanting to talk crap the first week of training camp cause he isn't already the starter. Calm your s**t it's a long season and the Bears would be smart not to start him this year.

Let's call a spade a spade though...if he was moving up the depth chart and having a killer off season along with Thomas not, the Mitch supporters would be having a field day with it. FYI it's not like he's behind some all-star qbs in Glennon/Sanchez, who are both learning a new system as well.
Like English said drafting a QB high is a huge gamble and we weren't at a pt to do that imo. We simply had too many open roster spots that could be filled with good young talent outside of a gamble on a QB this yr.
Mitch was my top QB prospect in this draft, but I thought qbs overall weren't very good. I understand it's stupid early to proclaiming good or bad with him or really any draft pick, I'm just stating what is happening in TC.

Well they payed Glennon to be a bridge QB and they should be taking their time with Mitch. But I do agree it's troubling he hasn't started splitting reps with the 2nd stringers with butt fumble. And yeah I had Mitch as the top QB but as the 35th player in this draft. But I had him rated over our Reuben Foster....wasn't a fan lol

I had foster higher...my only real issue with him is how he tackles (head first) and at times just ran around like a chicken with his head cut off hitting whomever was in front of him lol.
Sounds like they have been working on his tackling technique and he does seem to have a higher football IQ then I thought. I've been pleasantly surprised.
I also think it's BS that they've been running him with the 3 string, dude is better than that and the whole you need to earn it crap is ridiculous he's better than smith and it will show in preseaon games imo....Difference with foster/Mitch both being on the 3rd string is foster is making plays every practice (plus was injuried behind the 8 ball), I haven't heard Mitch doing much so far.

Yeah I didn't like Foster for those reasons plus the whole Alabama linebacker is hit or miss in my opinion. Having they great D line and hardly having to deal with blockers which allowed him to make more plays. But since we drafted Foster I'll jump to the dark side and be excited for him. But I'll keep one eye on Zach Cunningham. And as far as Mitch is concerned I don't think either one of us will be surprised if he never gets a second contract in the NFL. While Reuben will be a 10+ year vet

I think it's the fact that he missed the whole off-season program. So it's not surprising that he's starting on the bottom. The cream always rises to the top. If he's the better player, and he should be, he'll take over Smith's position soon enough.

I didn't dislike Zac either but he did miss quite a few tackles and needs to build up his strength. I also hesitate to draft Bama players in general because is it them or the collective talent around them plus they seem to be worked to the pt of injury.
I do think foster is one of the best LBers to come out of Bama in some time. Getting him at 31 was amazing, would have been pissed if they drafted him at 3...we can't be mad at Solomon/foster and a 2nd/3rd in 2018

Yeah I hated Zachs technique on a lot of tackles but he sure did make a lot of them. With little to no talent around him. His technique worked against a future 1-3 round pick in Nick Chubb. I'd be more excited about Foster if we still ran a 3-4 D. But after his first huge hit I'll become a fanboy.

Once a big hit happens I'll be all over foster as much as the next guy lol...I'm just hoping he can stay healthy that my biggest concern

Nope.
Anyone who understands QB play can see from the way he moves & reacts on the field that he's going to be a great quarterback. He might even take Glennon's job sooner than I thought based on how cool & comfortable he looked in that offense. That said, I say don't let him start until year 2.
