Said we should fire the training staff years ago. Anyone remember them letting Gore take a carry with a broken hip?

There it is and this is why, for yr #4 in a row, we are going to shed a bunch of these guys come next yr. Shalyn knows they have to fix this and the most obvious way to start is to take guys who have been injured and see if it is a recurring isssue. If so, those guys go first. Anybody with injuries recurring are gone. He isn't on here but Eric Reid is on the list. I like ward but again, injury prone. Gone. And same goes for Eli off and on injured. Go thru the list, any guy being a comebacker on IR...gone. No this does not include Reuben who once better has stayed on the field. The rest of these guys, look at their injury record for significant time off...incl PUP. By getting rid of repeaters, we greatly reduce the # of games lost to injury next yr. No matter how good, if oft injured...they are gone. Shanny and john have to did this or they never will know what their team looks like.

I expect to see Blair , Garnett, Asa Jackson, AA, Garçon, Tartt, magnus, mostert come back for sure. Whether they stick IDK. There will be others but recurring injury is a cutting reason this coming yr. Then they do it by who is left that has been virtually uninjured and do it on play for your position competition. Simple. Easy. But it is just a start. Needing basically 7 starters instead of 18, means the guys who make the injury cut list either start at OG C OG , ER, #1 WR, LB, DB. Otherwise they are playing for a rotational backup slot. We've already changed trainers at start of Kyle's tenure. Now i would like to see the field and practice fields get an OK from both players and experts in grass management unless it is astroturf. And there i would like to see investigators from plastic grass companies look at the problem also. It is not THE answer, but is a partial answer. And right now, even partial looks pretty good. We gotta break this hideous chain of events.
Another one bites the dust.

Everyone pray for Garoppolo's health over these final 3 games!

Free Pita, free McNichols!
420 guys on IR thruout the league. So it isn't only us. BUT....that averages out 13 guys per team on IR. And we are at 24 or somewhere....between double or more what most other teams have. That is why we cut a lot of guys injured previously and esp this yr. Do that and it is just new injuries. Keep the injured guys and it is going to be a redux of this IR wise next yr. We have to get these guys off the field and off the IR.

I bet another 30-40% of this roster flips again...with the guys that haven't bought in or can't stay healthy possibly being shown the door.

True enough, but there is going to be screaming and hollering when somebody's favorite Ox gets gored. Thinking right now about Reid in particular, and sad to say, Ward. Ward i would like to keep but i just went back and looked up his missed games going back some and odds are he will be injured in 2018, or at least part of it. It is that which we just cannot keep doing. He still has plenty good game in him, as opposed to Reid who plays well ....sometimes. But Ward seems to always play well. Unfortunately, he gets injured often , too. This will be hard but there is just no other way to get a handle on IR. It literally is killing us. And a guy like ward who plays well, right up until injured,....then we don't have him 2,3 , maybe 4 weeks, or until his next injury. Those are the kinds of moves that are going to have to be made....at least get our backlog of injured off the team, and quit saving them thinking....erroneously ...that we have that position covered....when really we do not. Cutting our. So so or bad players who are injured is no big deal. But cutting our good players who are often injured IS a big deal, but one we have to do. I just hope it is ASAP or sooner rather than later.
