I think that's a fair question. You'd probably have to look at each injury individually.

Any you think could be playing right now?
If that is 30, or close, this krapt has got to stop. And next yr, like i posted above, any body who has injury hx needs to be evaluated completely again, and even if a good player but has been injured frequently. We need to cut those guys. They are just a false sense of security that we have to jettison and get on with hiring healthy guys...no matter how good ...or bad these guys may be playing.

Updated.

The list is long and unfortunate. However, there are some guys who were added recently that would have stayed on the roster if the same injury had happened at the beginning of the season (Mostert and Bolden). Others were guys stashed on IR in order keep them around for next season to compete for a spot.

The ones that really hurt were guys like Garcon, Tartt, Smith, Garnett and Armstead.

Sure!

This would be my most valuable losses (you gave me the idea) but some lead to good things in the end:
ZWR Pierre Garçon - his loss lead to Marquise Goodwin being #1
RT Trenton Brown - best pass blocking T will miss 5 games (nothing good here for JG unless Darrell Williams Jr. gets a chance and plays exceptional)
SS Jaquiski Tartt - had won the SS role but fortunately, Reid has played well in his absence
DE Tank Carradine - starting BE lead to the signing of Legere Douzable
DL Arik Armstead - starting big LEO gave Solomon Thomas experience there and an open spot lead to the signing of Sheldon Day
G Joshua Garnett - nothing good here even with the trade for Laken Tomlinson
LB Malcolm Smith - Foster was supposed to be the heir to Bowman next to Smith. Instead, stuck with Coyle at MIKE
FS Jimmie Ward - always injured, never good
RB Raheem Mostert - best gunner in the game (see Bears game without him)
PR Victor Bolden Jr. - top 10 kick off returner, also took punts when Taylor was out
T Gary Gilliam - big loss losing your swing T especially now with the loss of Brown
DB Chanceller James - another guy coming into his own
G/C Erik Magnuson - would love to see him at C/G currently
DE Ronald Blair - quality depth
TE Cole Hikutini - another guy lost who was just starting to get more and more reps
DT Chris Jones - no biggie
WR Aaron Burbridge - no biggie
CB Prince Charles Iworah - no biggie
DB Don Jones - ST coverage guy only
CB Asa Jackson - no biggie
G John P. Flynn - no biggie
RB Joe Williams - red shirt
LB Donavin Newsome - no biggie
LB Jimmie Gilbert - no biggie
WR B.J. Johnson - Waived
CB Will Redmond - Waived

I agree. Frankly, I look at the list of our IR'd players the last few years and constantly come away thinking, "wow, that list is devoid of talent." How many players on that list would make the roster of the Patriots or the Eagles? I don't feel bad that our IR is filled with a load of practice squad-caliber talent.

Mostert is the best gunner in the game? Victor Bolden Jr. is a top 10 return specialist in football? LMFAO

Mostert voted #1 gunner by PFF and Bolden Jr. was top 5 for most of the year until the past few weeks when he was inactive and got fewer opportunities than many returners.

Not sure how you can be a 9er fan and NOT know we have one of the best ST units this year.

Now THAT is something to, LMFAO at.

No question he's a better player. But John would never have him on his board d/t character.
4th year of this analysis added to the OP.

The trend has not stopped for us.

I think you mean we're the 3rd most injured team or 30th least injured over 4 years?
