Injuries - 9-Year Analysis

Shop Find 49ers gear online
The 49ers continue to be in the top 5 for most injuries to the starters. I think Baltimore and New Orleans have more starters missing starts. The team would probably be top 5 since 2012 without looking at the numbers. Can't win when you have backups playing because of injury.
You just can't make this up.

The 49ers have one healthy running back entering Week 14's matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Starter Elijah Mitchell and Trenton Cannon are in the concussion protocol. Jeff Wilson Jr.'s knee flared up on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks. Trey Sermon is on injured reserve due to an ankle injury.

That leaves JaMycal Hasty (who just returned from I.R. himself) as San Francisco's only healthy running back.
i think at this point its a joke. the other joke thats even more comical is 49ers fans still saying " its the nfl this is normal" still exist.

I'll be honest, even the fans in here pivoting to "luck" for the last 8 years consistently are starting to come around.

It's beyond unreal. Go Hasty now.

Didn't Sermon injure his ankle on a ST play vs. the Vikes? You hate to see a young RB with potential get injured on a ST play and now can't step in when there's an opportunity to get quality reps. I want to see more of Sermon and what he can hopefully do at this level, especially after watching him quite a bit in college.

That's true. Yes he was injured on ST.

But but but every team deals with injuries. People are so ignorant when they say something like that considering the quality of players injured. Also, since we have some of the best depth in the league by far it just shows how improbable it is to win if we can't win with the significant injuries, not many teams could even come close to doing as well as we have with them.

What, the people saying Wev just had 8 years in a row of bad luck? Ya that makes sense. It's just bad luck…..every single year…..for 8 years in a row. Real logical.

This season reminds me of the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over an over again but expecting to get different results. That sums up our FO since like 2017. Same SC staff, same medical guys, same routine, won't change a f**kin thing, but somehow expect the injuries to magically stop happening. Hey we at least drafted some less injury prone players this year but look at how our rookies have done so far. Has ambry Thomas even played yet?? Until a change is made we will continue to see the same results. It's very simple.

but remember, EVERY team deals with injuries....just not as many to their best players and just not the length of time either but besides that, everything is the same. It's the NFL

Man, not looking good at all for Mitchell this week and Wilson could only make it through 1 snap last game. No Deebo? Good luck Jimmy.

LOL. There's a couple practice squad guys on the list we brought in for possible elevation to the active roster who also went on I.R.
