Another needless bump but yes,...ever since they go rid of Todd Gurley's training regimen,...they've been a different franchise!

Think it's a big deal that Moseley is coming back from a dreaded high ankle sprain after only 4 weeks. Hope they aren't rushing him.

Me too. He was rolling (no pun intended) before he went out with injury.

49ers are just going to have to take into account injury when drafting, trading, developing and letting players go. 8+ years now this issue has been here. It won't go away any time soon, might as well accept it, deal with it - maybe differently than other teams -- but just face it head on. I thin ShanaLynch have done a good job of that.

For example - schemewise, they draft for the scheme but factor in the depth aspect. Like prior to the 2021 draft they had mostert, Hasty, Willson - a pretty solid group, but they add Sermon and Mitchell. Pretty astute move. Same with the OLine. Same with QB.

Its going to be interesting how they deal with the QB situation next year, and who they add as backup to Trey. But that's for next year. Still they can do more and add more depth at every position (Defensive back, for example).

Totally. I'm big on the 3 prong approach for this very reason. They need be a deep and similar in skill set for WHEN that #1 goes down. That's why I'm fascinated to see who they bring in to back up Trey. That's a crucial position especially in year 1 of starting where Trey may push himself or play hero ball and get himself hurt.

- Lol and he will be hurt because he is a mobile QB playing hero ball. Yet our nonmobile QB has never been able to stay healthy because of _(insert OLine or ambiguous 49er trainers here)_.

A study had been showed to NC already that mobile QBs get hurt no more -- less, in fact, recently -- than immobile, pocket QBs, in great detail.

https://www.filmstudybaltimore.com/new-study-quarterbacks-that-run-most-are-not-injured-most/

Yet to no avail, obviously, as the same unproven narrative still gets pushed. You can give him all the evidence to the contrary and he will forget it and come here and pitch the same misinfo for followers.

- Someone previously had it right: With cases like Jason Verrett, Dee Ford, and Javon Kinlaw,... the 49ers like to roll the dice @ times on the injury front. A time they didn't do this was in passing up Jonathan Allen's arthritic, no-good shoulders. Remember all of that hoopla? He was the surefire choice (Aaron Rodgers was as well -- not Alex Smith). The pick was supposed to be him, but we skipped out due to injury concerns and took Solomon Thomas.

1 is now a Pro Bowl caliber player,...the other, a nobody. Kinlaw can easily be seen as a "not making this mistake again" reaction to skipping over an obvious choice like Jonathan Allen, just as an example.

What lesson is there to be learned from it? To take chances or to not take chances? Follow your 1st mind or avoid injuries and bad medical evaluations?

- Lol look,...I have no problem with charting this stuff without bias. The only true gripe lies in the herd-mentality the OP is continually pitching in reviving this thread instead of simply admitting that he knows no more than you or I -- and much less than the 49ers -- when it comes to making these decisions.

We've reaped the benefits of taking risks,...and we've paid the consequences as well. Just like everyone else. No need or reason to feel sorry for ourselves or think something else sinister is going on,....that's just a b.s. storyline that's sold to you.

- The chart previously displayed courtesy of Mangameslost serves it's purpose: we're right around 8th to 10th worst in total # of games lost due to injury, and 3rd worst in the quality of injured players lost. Not the worst in the league in either category, and far from the best. The healthiest team in the league per the chart isin't necessarily the best by any stretch. Green Bay has the 2nd worst quality of injured players lost and is the best team in the league. Jacksonville, Atlanta, Houston,....all relatively healthy by the same metrics,...all suck.

So, yes, conspirators don't like it, but...

Disinformation has to be fought with good information.

I think the 3 prong approach, like you mentioned before -- is something they have been (sort of following) but I agree with you -- I'd like to see it more prevalent for every position. They have done it Specifically for the QB and Edge positions. Trey/Jimmy and Bosa/Key/Ebukam/ Willis. These are the two positions -schemewise - that I think can benefit most from the Pareto principle. But I agree, I think the 3 prong approach can be applied to all the other positions - to a lesser extent. Like how they have used a 6h rounder for the arby position to increase depth there. It was very useful when Mostert went down.

I can see an older vet more than a young rookie with similar skill set to add depth behind Trey, that can be his backup. (sort of like the Ebukam/Key/Ominihu trade/FA situation to back up Bosa) From a draft perspective, I think a trade down scenario should be used to simply increase more draft picks in the day three area to just simply add depth to all the other important but not critical positions like edge and QB. Again, following the Pareto principle.
Garoppolo WILL be traded.
Ford should be cut.

Another good QB is needed.
More quality O-linemen are essential.
Top CB is a must.
Find another high motor Edge somewhere.

A DJ Jones, Armstead and Kinlaw rotation inside is good.
With Garoppolo's and Ford's money bring back Key and Ebukam can stay.
Al- Shaair will be kept and if there's beef due to reps then trade him or Greenlaw and pick up a decent pick.
Bring back Tartt who is often hurt but is way better than Hufanga in coverage right now.

So f**king true.
Rams
lose Akers....trade for Michele....oh wait, we get Akers back

lose Woods, get an upgrade in OBJ

niners....lose Verrett Ford Mostert Greenlaw (for basically the season) lose his upgrade Al Shaair for multiple games, MM but hey every team has " Injuries"

Rams have 140 games missed due to injury (thanks Mangameslost for the quick, usable graphic),....that qualifies in "every team."

We have more? Well,...the Niners chose to take Ford and Verrett as well....in spite of their injury histories. When Ford and Verrett were outplaying their contracts and we were reaping the benefits, you were doing cartwheels celebrating the moves,...weren't you?

Then they get hurt and it's back to the "woe is us" pity party.

Sad how jaded some of you become,...lol....thinking there's only 1 team in the league that has issues. There's just no in-between with some of you guys, no matter what. Everything's black and white. We have bad luck and everyone else has good luck.

Tell you what,...we got a game later. So get all the tears out now, get off the floor, and dust yourself off. Man up. No one cares about our injuries with 2 healthy, legit QBs for 90% of the season (how many teams can say that?). #NoExcuses

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see where we end up in AGL rank this year and on the aggregate average for the 8th year. The highest this team was ranked was 23rd the last 7 years (2017).

Don't feed the troll.

Because undoing much of the spin damage you inflict here and presenting across-the-board facts for the entire league is trolling.

"Ignore him and only listen to me! I'm your friend!"

I think you just enjoy having so many here in captivity.
