Why? Well, it's safe to say we can rule out "bad luck" after 8 straight years.

We can rule out bad luck because the the "good luck" you mentioned in the 1st line.

If we continue to have better-than-solid players and are able to reach the NFCCG every 2 out of 3 years, then keep the needless injury statistics pumping, I guess, as they are showing no causation regarding the team's results. All teams deal with rough injuries due to the physicality of the sport. All you can do is hope and pray that it's not your year you're high on the severity list in regards to quality players being lost.

p.s.,.....Given that these theories and numbers of 7 (now 8) year analysis have gone completely nowhere, it would be great to have a new injury thread when the season starts,...as what's actually going on with the current team would be much quicker easier to find.

People try to start threads doing such but they are locked and directed to this propaganda-filled thread. So like I said....just a suggestion to eventually put the tin foil hat away and call this one quits so we can actually keep up with what's relevant as training camp season begins.

Say What? You want to make yet ANOTHER injury curse thread? Naw man keep the blood in the one bucket.

I thought there was a block button for posts you don't want to see? ( of course this statement is redundant if you blocked me).

Well considering Kendrick Bourne stated the Pats check for dehydration whereas niners do not seems to me to show some low hanging fruit for injuries.

Obviously, I wish it was better news, of course but now we know.

I didn't know that. Thanks for bringing that to the table.

For your viewing pleasure in italics and bold. Just in case you might want to occasionally rebut.

Hopefully not seen as inciting but there other places that current season injury information can be posted such as the one with the current team lists etc.

To back up the reason your current thread exists is the overall analysis of the team that is desperately trying to regain the glory days.

Many fans IMO would want to see what is going on when the team has been rock bottom too often and frustratingly close recently. If it can be fixed then the FO should learn from it and adjust. It is obvious that they have made big mistakes in player selection, turf, medical staff, training, contracts and quality control.

Far from being a part of your so called tin hat brigade I do appreciate the efforts put in by many like yourself to see stuff and call it out.

So 2 questions: why are we such a perennially unhealthy team, and are the remaining players or the coach mostly responsible for making the playoffs despite being so banged up? Seems we win a ton DESPITE a lot of things.

We do win. It's incredible actually. A total anomaly, actually. A unicorn.

Why? Well, it's safe to say we can rule out "bad luck" after 8 straight years.

Safe to say if we were only in the bottom half of injured teams.....say 20th....we win 2 more SBs. No other team in the nfl can say that. None

Serious that has got to be one of the stupidest statements I have ever heard in my life. The Niners are always among the most injured teams in the league. Not only that, the quality and impact of the injuries are what's really in question.

When you have a Pro Bowl corner like Jason Verrett or a pro bowl pass rusher like Dee Ford or The very best left tackle in the game that is so hobbled by an injury that he allowed six pressures and they didn't even run to his side more than three times, that determines the game. We would of easily won the NFCCG if we had one of those players back. The SB we could of won without any of those injured players.

It's ridiculous we have literally given away two Super Bowls because we were injured. Even against the Chiefs, Weston Richburg who was a pro bowl alternate center and no DJ Jones. We all know the Chiefs ran 130 yards against us including that 50 yard td and a high yards per rush which never would've happened. Richburg would of easily helped our horrendous guard play. Just 1 batted Chris Jones pass from icing the game. I'm so sick and tired of moronic statements like every team deals with injuries, when ignoring them comparatively

Oh God. Thanks for that laugh this morning! You can't have an objective debate with someone like that...randomly all over the place and completely misses the point. He missed this whole section, clearly:

For 8 years, Football Outsiders has been tracking injuries via their Adjusted Games Lost (AGL) formula that looks deeper into the quantity and quality of injuries. Quite simply, there is an AGL Threshold (between 65.9 - 82.3), that if your team is under that threshold, the chance of getting to the playoffs is slim to none. Conversely, if your team is above the threshold, your chance of making the playoffs goes up dramatically.
But by how much? Over the last 8 years, the teams under this threshold average just 6.77 wins and the teams over it, average 9.37 wins. We all know 9 wins gives you a legit chance of making the playoffs even with a 17-game schedule. In short, there seems to be a direct correlation between team AGL (health) and the number of wins and consequently, the probability of making the playoff.
San Francisco REMAINS one of the very few outlier teams who fell (way) below the 'AGL Threshold = Between: 65.9 - 82.3 (74.1)' and STLL made the playoffs and are still the only team to make the Superbowl as well since AGL started being captured in 2008.

Sopened gets the "point."
Basically, if you were a betting man, even if you felt this was an elite roster, armed with this knowledge, you can comfortably predict there's no way in hell we're winning a Superbowl this year.

Conversely, if you understand the patterns of injuries (e.g. rebounding pattern), put your money on the Ravens not only making the playoffs but being right there in the Superbowl hunt.

Serious that has got to be one of the stupidest statements I have ever heard in my life.

1) The stupidity to me is feeling the need to continue to try and bump this thread to the top over and over to drive an agenda. Might as well ask the mods to tack it so it's not needlessly bumped every couple weeks.

2) Jason Verrett has injury problems because of our staff? Uhhh, no. He has injury problems because he's Jason Verrett. We roll the dice on oft-injured players. The propaganda here points to something in the muscle milk in our building that's causing this,...but we have a front office that roles the dice when it comes to cheaper, previously-injured players, and thus far it has paid off for us. It's not going to work 100% of the time, but it saves on the cap, and it has worked for us. Cant knock the hustle.

3) All teams deal with rough injuries due to the physicality of this sport we call football. There are a # of opinions out there but this here is a flat out fact.

You do not get to take facts that you do not like and label them stupid.

Facts are not smart or stupid. They're just facts. There is nothing to debate,....hence my hopefulness in us getting a new injury thread this year where the subject can be the actual current injuries on the team and how they're currently affecting the team this coming year instead of the tinfoil hat stuff.

It probably wont happen, as it will likely get locked and the note will say to check this thread instead, but a note has been made of what's going on.

Well, facts don't care about your feelings either. The fact is the Niners are consistently way more injured than most other teams and you are still not acknowledging the fact, I repeat, the fact that the Niners are consistently more injured than most teams. That is the point. It's not just Verrett so take your own advice and don't cherry pick a player or two that has an injury history and claim the niners asked for it when a LOT of other players that don't have an injury history are injured as well.

Come on man. Common sense and reality should be used
