Maybe the trend changes this year.

Lol...per PFF in 2021 heading into Week 15:

Which is phenomenal when you think about it because our front office INVITES what you term as "playing behind the 8-ball." That is to say, they readily invite talented, oft-injured players like Verett, Dee Ford, Jimmy, et. al. and rolling the dice.

It's resulted in 2 NFCCG trips in 3 years so they think they're doing the right thing.

As the #'s show,...we're middle of the pack. All teams deal with injuries and will continue to. I'd argue that the gripe is only made to say "I told you so" at the first sight of a longterm injury just for the sake of being able to bump this thread and say it,...ignoring any and all evidence that all teams face the same.

Another injury, perhaps? Oh the horror.

If ShanaLynch can reduce the injury rate by even 1% - that may make the difference. One play lost us the NFCCG last year - if we would have gotten that first down in the fourth QTR, or Jimmy hitting Emannuel on that long pass - one play - we will have won a super bowl and gotten to another one.
Or.....if the ref had called the holding on Bosa in the 4th Q...on 3rd or 4th down and 30 ?????

The best part is nobody even bothers responding to him. LOL

Lol of course when legit replies and responses aren't possible,....someone that likes to completely control messageboard topics (no matter how nonsensical it becomes) is going to just hope that any and all detractors are ignored.

My personal view? I dont see any analysis going on,....but rather it being hoped that the analysis is ignored, as you suggested. Our GM LIKES to sign injury-prone players at bargain prices (gambling), 2 NFCCG appearances in 3 yrs, et. al.

Heck,...I dont even like the GM, but I cant argue the results. But like you said, dont find legitimate replies to these counterpoints. Just ignore them, right?

Dont see any analysts in this thread,....but what I do see is a poster or 2 simply waiting around till the next injury (in a collision sport like football no less) to I guess prove that they were right that another injury is going to happen this season.

I'd still say it would be pretty cool to have an injuries thread where we just discuss things plainly without unsupported conspiracy theories taking over,...but they always seem to get locked because this one is already available.

Thanks for bumping, posts by random49er are being hidden.

Nothing significant so far. Hurst was on I.R. all year with a calf so you can't lose what you never had.

AA will take a month or so; not sure what his degree on his sprained MCL is. But he's already a fixture so that gives all the other 3T's extra snaps to work inside which is a good thing. We need to be 3 deep there to be safe. 3 other DE's are also working inside in nickel too. Good stuff.

Heal up Ridgeway. He's been playing well from reports. Just a minor quad though.

The great news is that Azeez is back after 2 surgeries, Mitchell is healthy and it looks like McGlinchey and Kinlaw are already participating in some real football activities. That's incredible news.

In addition, there are rumors Jason Verrett might start practicing in a few weeks; 11 month marker after the injury.

Pads come on Monday!

Remember all the "Jimmy might not be the guy" stuff a couple yrs ago from yours truly? I mean you wanted that silenced too, but corrupted topics are still going to be righted by certain posters. e.g.,

It was a dumb take to point out that you're always snidely complaining about something? Its the truth. You seem to find the negative in every team related topic and harp on it over and over. Gets old. We all know the team has injury problems. We don't need a weekly rant about it every time someone else goes down.

With Kinlaw it's reached the point where it feels like you're hoping he busts so you can be right, rather than hoping he gets healthy and gets better each week.

Im not just bringing it up to talk crap, but its been that noticeable.

Not my words,...but his.

@ the top of this page,....I posted about how injuries are going to happen to us and the very next day, 2-3 guys went down like flies. I consider myself neither Nostradamus nor bad luck. Just observant of patterns that happen w/a physical sport like football. With football you can only be HOPEFUL when it comes to injuries. There's nothing different about the water in Santa Clara.

But just to clarify.... What you choose to hide from is perfectly fine with me, sir. In the end, people believe what they choose to believe.

YaY! that's when the *real football* evaluation starts. On Hurst, I read on the transcript that Maurice just stuck his hand out to grab one of the RB's and just like that - tore his bicep. It basically was still non-contact play, considering no pads. Another weird one was Jeff Wilson was just getting up from sitting on a chair and felt weird and boom, he's out for half a year. Some of these injuries are really strange how they happen.

Yah it's not that the 49ers get more injuries than other teams. It just seems like we always have certain areas that get ravaged. This makes the injuries more damaging because it weakens an entire unit. Last year we had the LBs and RBs battling injuries. Now it's starting with the middle of the D line which was already weakened when DJ Jones left.

Injuries are now such a big factor in the NFL that the SB is often a battle between the 2 healthiest teams instead of the 2 best teams.
