Injuries - 9-Year Analysis

We must be the most injured team in the league. Do they have a strength and conditioning program in the off season? Do these guys stretch? How are we consistently the most injured team in the league?

You're partially correct... its, "49ers football."

No need to get mad, triggered or even challenge it anymore when you KNOW it's coming.

It's just a matter of attrition at the crucial positions and whether you can weather it enough to make the playoffs.

9-8

But what's the conclusion to be drawn?

The 8 years you're referencing stretch across several coaching staffs, several strength and conditioning staffs, and various crops of players.

If you're saying "well, that's just football," fine. But to say "it's 49ers football" doesn't mean anything without an actual analysis of why the injuries mount despite changing variables.

I guess what I'm ultimately saying is: This thread is literally nothing but a list of injuries. There's no analysis to be found here.

Absolutely zero.

I've referenced some studies but they point right back at the game of football as a whole. Nothing's going on in this thread but somehow, the next player that gets injured justifies his point because _________________________.

When that blank is ever filled in,...please let us know. lol.

Just trying to keep track here. #1 QB, #1 RB, #1 OT, #1 DT and #1 Safety are all out now. Along with a handful of others. I'm at a ;oss to explain how the 49ers are always the most (or one of the most) injured teams in the league. You can't win when your best players are always in streets.

Every year there are a few teams that deal with it way more than other teams. It's always the Chargers and Niners and it is f**king never the Rams. It's ridiculous and people have the balls to try to say it happens to a lot of teams. No actually, it doesn't. Not great players year after year

Correct. Freak injuries. There's a normal volume. But when it's at that volume over that long, that's not normal. That's what this AGL thread demonstrated. It's so consistent it's affecting our team building strategy.

I guess I don't see Trey's or Trent's injuries as freak injuries. RB's have a short shelf life specifically because they are consistently running into the teeth of the defense. Lineman are, literally, in the trenches. Lower leg injuries happen all the time.

I have read the info Paso passed on about the Rams. I have seen what's been posted about other sport's regimens, but I don't see how those programs would have prevented either of the aforementioned injuries.

No doubt the 49ers could use a change, but what is the solution? Because the ones put forth thus far, while possibly helping in some areas, would not have prevented either of the above injuries, which are the injuries that may kill this season.

Yeah we have a lot of injuries. It's unbelievable.

Chargers 49ers Bills and TB are all contenders with major injuries. Meanwhile other teams have nothing close to what's going on to the niners:
QB 1, RB1, OT 1, DT 1, FS 1 and a starting LB all out. (Not to mention Kittle was out 2 games). These are good to elite players at their positions. Every damn year.

Are we ever going to play the Rams with both our offensive tackles in? Or our starting running back? Meanwhile the Rams played the bills without their all pro corner and Arizona without Hopkins who we have to play twice

I hear you. I'm speaking from a pure volume compared to the rest of the league standpoint and you're speaking to a couple crucial injuries to critical positions.

Trey's seems more related to scheme/philosophy choice and for TW, just unlucky in the line of fire.
Anyone have any updates?

It looks like McKivitz reaggrevated his knee. Armstead, his plantar fasciitis. Both of these are really bad news. Those two were the sacrifice for the win this week.

I also saw Jennings limping off. Is he OK?

Any other concerns?

McKivitz was the sacrifice last night.

Yes he was. But we need 2 FTW. So I'm assuming AA is the other. Ha

Good news is that few / none of these injuries appear season ending. Getting reinforcements like Verrett & Ward, then Trent, then Elijah, then Azeez and McKivitz are all nice boosts later in the season. The only real disaster was at the most important position
