WHAT IS THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY? DOING THE SAME THING OVER AN OVER AGAIN AND EXPECTING DIFFERENT RESULTS.
In what way, in your opinion, have the front office refused to do which could have addressed the injury problem? We no longer draft the Baalke specials. So what is it they could have done, and refused to do?
Spell it out.
1. they acquire fragile/undurable players. yes they finally started drafting more durable an reliable players but that is very recent. that just started in this draft or the last one correct? are any of those more durable players even playing much to contribute? and what did it cost us to get them to finally see hey we need to stop picking fragile guys. it cost us a f**king SB. had they accepted this in year 2 and not year 4 then 2019 would probably have been the year to bring us trophy #6. injuries was a major reason we didnt win it all in 2019 and is the biggest reason we still wont win it all this year.
2. 4 years ago they brought in the dude from the NHL(an probly a crew too) to be the head of "player health and performance". what started 4 years ago? our record breaking injury streak. we werent exactly awesome with injuries before this guy but read the writing on the wall. accept it for what it is, a problem. the problem has taken a nosedive since this guy came in and there is no sign of recovering. what were trying to do with player health IS. NOT. WORKING. wtf else will it take for the team to accept this?
3. its been talked about that shanny has a different practice style thats more relaxed and less physical. probably trying to "preserve" players bodies but as we can tell, nothing is being preserved. i havent got proof of this or verified it in any way, i just have read this multiple times over the last 5 years. on here an other places. so everything without facts an proof is just assumptions, but with the results we have been getting this is an assumption im willing to bet is true.
4. i think our player health staff is just flat out flawed. they arent good at their jobs. maybe their not qualified enough to help, maybe their in the wrong sport, we dont know. they misdiagnose injuries, declare players healthy when they really are not, declare players injured when they really are not, send guys out to play when they shouldnt play etc. how many times have we heard of an injury to a player announced and a few days later its a different story/injury. i can think of a few. i remember watching a game that was jeff wilsons first game back after another injury. the dude pulled a muscle running out onto the field for his very first play. now ya that could have been random "bad luck/freak injury" kind of stuff, but with how things have been here would you doubt that just maybe his body wasnt actually ready to go?
5. this isnt our FOs fault but the leagues move away from practices with contact an less preseason games is a direct cause of the increase in injuries. guys just arent ready for full on contact.
6. this regime doesnt believe in protecting the QB. if you need proof, look at their OL choices the last 5 years. they dont believe in pass protection, they believe you only need to protect the qb by running the ball well. need proof? how healthy have our qbs been with this regime. why did we draft trey lance? so we could have a mobile qb to run away from all the DE's running right through our OL.
besides my #5 everything i just spelled out is choices talked about an made by our FO. the scariest part is here we are in what year 6? and after the annual proof that our players health is terrible, they STILL continue with the same plan, refusing to update it, refusing to change it. refusing to change personnel. in fact didnt shanny just say "im just used to the injuries by now". if that doesnt scare the s**t out of you idk what will. im a niner fan through an through but this season was about our new QB, our future an finally getting healthy and a mobile qb offense. this season ended when trey went down. worst part is, after hes back, after waiting ANOTHER year, hes probably just going to get hurt again within a few weeks.
call me negative, a downer or whatever you want but its time to be realistic people.
I appreciate the contributions to this thread.
