This. It's hilarious how people say every team has injuries but they forget to point out that the people that are injured aren't even close to the level of talent or elite play as the 49ers.

Generally speaking, would you say that the 49ers have more talented players than other teams?

Is that a trick question? We have arguably the most talented roster with the chargers in the whole league. If you don't know this then maybe you haven't really watched football all that much. Don't mean to come off this way but honestly I think you must've been sarcastic. If not I could see this is the only way you could try to prove a point which is completely wrong. Injuries are not close to equal. Not every team has the same amount of injuries. And not every team has the same severity of injuries to elite players like we do. Bottom line

I'm making a point that's kinda over your head for a moment (and I've made it a couple pages back),..... but the laws of averages says the best teams are more likely to have the most noteworthy players injured year after year because,....they have the most noteworthy players.

Detroit's had Jon Cominsky and Chris Board dinged up pretty good lately but seriously,...who the hell are they in the grand scheme of things, compared to our talent?

The Texans have had health issues with Kurt Hinish, Chris Moore, and Austin Deculus lately. Okay? Anyone here cares?

If being honest,...a majority of the board here would say they have no clue who these guys are. So whether it's our sheer ignorance or the sheer fact that we have way more talent or a combination of both,...the bottom line is you expect the more talented teams to suffer more from injuries. All else even, it's just basic statistics.

With many other teams it's in large part one no-name replacing another on a team who's fanbase knows they're not doing anything worthwhile this year.

Hopefully you can get the drift of what I'm saying here. A couple season enders that were unfortunate but for the most part, many of these guys can get healthy and come back and contribute as the year goes on. Just everyday football.

Barrows dropped an interesting article today re: health.

TLDR:
Most injured team in the league this year.
Most injured team in the league over the last 3.5 years.
Most injured team in the league over the last 10 years.

Ben Peterson, head of "strength and conditioning" has never done an interview and has never allowed anyone on his staff to do an interview.

f**king clown show.

It's awful and seems like some folks don't believe it's a real issue

hopefully Kyle does

I'll feed you one more time. I know what you said but what went WAYYYYY over your head is that some of the other great teams don't even have close to the elite and good players injured like the niners. Philly ring a bell? KC? The Rams great players are ALWAYS healthy. Who the F cares about bad teams. The point you made was moot especially when considering the niners are always at the top of the list.

We lose games we would of won if a player or 2 was healthy unlike the healthier teams we always play. People point to we could've done this or that, made a play here or there while neglecting that EVERY TEAM misses throws, plays or has penalties while the healthier team can overcome them bc their first stringers can make plays to counter the bad plays or mistakes.

Perfect instance. Niners give up 70 yards a game vs the run and with a backup DL they give up 170????!!!! We would of destroyed the falcons if we had AA and Bosa with their 4-5 YPC vs us which would've been dramatically lower and forced them to have so many more punts and negative plays.

the crazy part is that, didn't they bring in specialist a few years ago to address this injury issue? Seems like its the same or even worsened

I wish I understood why we get so many key injuries year after year. Without the bull and without trying to slag off part or all of the FO or the rest of the team. Just hoping for an adult conversation.

There's been some good theories in here going way back: scheme, player type for that scheme, overreliance on personnel for that scheme, NHL S&C team, team physicians, off season routine, etc.

It's a safe place in here......do you have any theories yourself?

It spans numerous years, regimes, schemes, players FOs, medical staffs etc..,,so as MB mentioned in his piece, this predates anything currently in my place.
It's gotten absurd though, almost makes you not want to get invested because you hist know major injuries are coming
