Does practicing all week on grass, only to play on turf that week make s**t harder? No clue just tossing it out there.
tartt saying Kyle and Co isn't giving his guys enough time to heal compared to one of the healthiest teams in the league. Makes you think

I'm just playing too. It's interesting he's talking about being padded up and thudding and it seems like they hardly are ever in pads and Kyle cancels practices too and rests a TON of the veterans.
You did completely dismiss Bourne's complete opposite view of Tartt's and I believe another former player as well noted in this thread (can't remember his name ATM).
But I imagine they adjust differently annually too so who knows.
We don't get insight into these much anymore but the ones in the past, lots of dudes standing around, very little pads if at all, etc. More players engaged in the music than the drill itself. LOL

Fair question. That's gotta be hard on the body esp. since 3 of our own instantly got tendinitis from it, right?
Most of our veterans this off season hardly practiced at all plus barely played in games. I don't know about that.
Also, Philly being a top healthy team is a fairly new development. They were 2nd worst not too long ago and must have made some changes because they've been much healthier since.
Philly was 30th in 2020 and 12th last year.
In short, it's too early to use them as a model of health and consistency annually.

It's just so nice to finally see the Rams and Hawks in our area code of injuries! Historically, those two have been the model for years and years and years.

Bourne who strange enough is currently injured…is playing on another team and like a lot of guys talks up his team. No different then Hill saying Tua is better than Mahomes.
I don't remember any other former player talking about it?
I get it you're just trying to make sense of this crap. We all are. Truth is all these injuries aren't due to one static thing. It's a lot of stuff.
drafting/signing guys with past injuries medical issues. Practicing on grass then playing on turf, possible practice issues and not maintaining recovery. s**t luck and finding guys that go balls to the wall (like Kittle) instead of living to fight another down. It's a collection of stuff.

Him being injured now has nothing to do with his take on the differences he saw in TC moving from SF to NE though and it is completely counter to Tartt's comments now.
NE is up/down annually as well. From 11th in 2020 to 31st last year. I wouldn't use their model either.
I agree it's a conglomerate of issues here but unfortunately it's been wildly consistent annually to where we can absolutely predict and bank on it. So that definitely speaks to a much bigger systemic problem (for us at least).

NFL week 6, Top 5, impact on teams by players lost to injury and health protocols (Lost-wav metric, weighting by career quality of injured players). 1 SFO 2 BAL 3 NOR 4 TAM 5 DAL
NFL through week 6, Bottom 5, least games missed by injured players and health protocols JAX 19 GNB 32 KAN 34 PHI 38 NYJ 39
Green Bay has one less excuse for their poor play.

Oh wow, Ravens again too? Usually when a team has a really bad year (historic, in their case), the team bounces back nicely the next year. I had them as a lock for the playoffs knowing that trend. But if they keep this up it'll catch up to them again.

What I find so strange about grass vs turf:
You would think teams that play on artificial turf for at least eight games minimum because they play all eight at home as well as a few away would be more injured than teams that have at least eight games on grass like San Francisco.
This leads me to believe that players who play on turf are used to it or at least their bodies are. If it wasn't the case then that would mean all these teams that play on turf like Minnesota would be injured more than teams that play more games on grass.
They should do a study of teams that have grass as opposed to teams that have turf, and see how they stack up bc this s**t has got to stop
