#49ers injury updates via Kyle Shanahan
— Matt Maiocco (@MaioccoNBCS) October 24, 2022
WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring) and LB Dre Greenlaw (calf) are day to day.
FB Kyle Juszczyk (broken finger) had surgery, probably won't play this week and will be available after the bye

Injuries part of the game but NFL teams are definitely alarmed at the rate of weekly issues and trying everything to troubleshoot.

Switching to all grass surfaces still won't happen. Not just playing fields but practice fields also need to be grass.

Some of the injuries is due to heavy reliance on YAC due to limited JG. Go watch the other games in the NFL, QBs often throw deeper than 5 yards in general and WR/TE just catch it and go down quickly and if they don't their guys get tackled immediately. Our guys are literally trying to break ten tackles a play (cause our QB can only throw 5 yards downfield accurately) and then once they have the first down, they ram themselves into the DB/LB or in the case of Juice drive their fingers into the facemask of the DB/LB instead of just going out of bounds or safely falling down. Trey literally was coached the same way and he got injured (how the f**k the coaching staff thought it is ok to use their QB literally as FB is beyond me, first thing I would have down as a coach with a mobile QB is tell him you need to slide or you are not going to be playing).
There is no protect yourself and just get the first down. Its run yourself into the f**king DB/LB cause you are superman. It's a major coaching problem with Shanahan.
Of course "hockey" training staff is absolute s**t and Strength and Conditioning coach needs to be fired at the end of year.
Injuries are costing us games and ruining the careers of our best players so something needs to change.

Crocker had a physician (massive 9er fan) on to talk about all our injury issues including Kinlaw, Deebo, soft tissue and high ankle sprains.
Starts at 28:00.
Eye-opening stuff. Highly recommended.
