League should look at having a reserve QB available in such circumstances. Bad look for such an important game prime time game. Hardest game ever to watch.
I know there was was some poor blocking but its 8 years and our QB situation - injury wise - is still a major problem.

No one is stopping teams from carrying three QBs on the roster, and I believe a third QB who is inactive is eligible to come in, for specifically these kind of situations.

Nah, just dumb luck.
Not sure if you're joking as I'm being half serious myself, but this has been going on year-in-year-out for way too long. Something's clearly up and this team won't win #6 unless it's solved OR we're lucky enough at the absolute right time/enough time.
Sarcasm. We have random fools in here claiming dumb luck still.

Love how this thread will now graduate towards "QB Health" and ignore the fact that the overall roster was pretty damn healthy.
The narrative changes over and over,...lol. But keep telling yourself you know more than you do.

THIS TIME it's QB health like how last year it was going through all those RBs. Sometimes it's randomly distributed. Other times it's on a position group. Either way it's been a thing that's been occurring constantly at a high rate and often at the worst time for years at this point. Not sure what can be done, but something needs to happen.

Patrick Mahomes ankle injury wasn't more severe solely because of what their training staff does. Or because their o line.
Or something.

And all QB injuries were completely different circumstances.
Lance - designed option run, injured foot when tackled.
Garoppolo - scrambled out of pocket, injured foot when tackled
Purdy - hit while attempting pocket pass
All this tells me is that when people get hit they can get hurt. So, basically.... football.

Yup.
Jimmy and Tony Pollard got their ankles broken. Pat Mahomes just a sprain.

Thanks for pointing that out.
I remember this regime having 3 on the roster for a few years too.
It is all risk/reward I suppose but when this team had carried so many injuries up until the playoffs what else was the FO going to do? Not sure any folks in here would have carried that many QB's on the team.
What I was trying to say that not having the pressure of fitting a backup to the backup QB in to the roster quota might make the game/product a little more interesting. The NFL created this problem. Not the teams.

Until the untraceable PEDS catch up to these injuries you will find a team willing to create Steve Austins. Just ask the defategate folks.

Personally i think there was progress on the injury bug this year. This team was healthy as its ever been. They have to really study the QB position as they studied the OLine positon and got the OLines healthy this year. Get that injury bug out of the QB positon too. 20 playoff appearances and only 5 super bowls to show for it. We are still on track.

I dont understand your logic, sorry.
You can carry as many QBs as you can, doesnt mean you should, but you can. Most teams don't because the likelihood of two QBs being out in the same game is small. Although, given new concussion rules during this year, it's a bit different.
There is a provisioning rule iirc that if you have a QB who is inactive and both QBs are injured and out of the game the third QB can suit up and play (and the #1 and #2 cannot enter the game again iirc). It's already an exception that is exclusive to QB position.
