The narrative changes over and over,...lol. But keep telling yourself you know more than you do.

And all QB injuries were completely different circumstances.

Lance - designed option run, injured foot when tackled.
Garoppolo - scrambled out of pocket, injured foot when tackled
Purdy - hit while attempting pocket pass

All this tells me is that when people get hit they can get hurt. So, basically.... football.

It was so good to have a healthy team overall minus the 2 starting QBs leading in to the playoffs.

Agreed that the narative can be reactive. But is that not how things are analysed? Like the injury bug has not been in effect on the most important position on the team for 8 years?

And the correct analysis is to point out the different circumstances that the injuries occurred. So you both are right.

In conclusion after the past 8 years of "football" the team by the law of averages is heading for redemption over the next 8 beacause thing just happen anyway and it will more likely happen to others instead of this team. Got it. Thanks. I feel better now.

I remember this regime having 3 on the roster for a few years too.
It is all risk/reward I suppose but when this team had carried so many injuries up until the playoffs what else was the FO going to do? Not sure any folks in here would have carried that many QB's on the team.
What I was trying to say that not having the pressure of fitting a backup to the backup QB in to the roster quota might make the game/product a little more interesting. The NFL created this problem. Not the teams.

I dont understand your logic, sorry.

You can carry as many QBs as you can, doesnt mean you should, but you can. Most teams don't because the likelihood of two QBs being out in the same game is small. Although, given new concussion rules during this year, it's a bit different.

There is a provisioning rule iirc that if you have a QB who is inactive and both QBs are injured and out of the game the third QB can suit up and play (and the #1 and #2 cannot enter the game again iirc). It's already an exception that is exclusive to QB position.

Taking this concept one step further. Designated as a reserve and not on the roster as inactive. (as Steve Young jokingly volunteered for).
Basically an NFL qualified player that is only ever used in an emergency. Not likely to win a game but could save the game from being an embarrassment.
Could put other restrictions in such as only 2nd half player etc.

The refs will still favor the other team.

Haha. True. That was pretty bad. The Eagles didn't exactly need any help today but they sure got it.

Starting to see this idea popping up in a few different places.
Glad the comish was there in person to see a team that had no options left at QB for almost a full quarter. Made for a great game eh comish?

They demand a sacrifice in order to stop torturing us. That sacrifice is your account!
