Thanks for pointing that out.
I remember this regime having 3 on the roster for a few years too.
It is all risk/reward I suppose but when this team had carried so many injuries up until the playoffs what else was the FO going to do? Not sure any folks in here would have carried that many QB's on the team.
What I was trying to say that not having the pressure of fitting a backup to the backup QB in to the roster quota might make the game/product a little more interesting. The NFL created this problem. Not the teams.

I dont understand your logic, sorry.

You can carry as many QBs as you can, doesnt mean you should, but you can. Most teams don't because the likelihood of two QBs being out in the same game is small. Although, given new concussion rules during this year, it's a bit different.

There is a provisioning rule iirc that if you have a QB who is inactive and both QBs are injured and out of the game the third QB can suit up and play (and the #1 and #2 cannot enter the game again iirc). It's already an exception that is exclusive to QB position.

If your QB isn't getting murkd 2 downs out of every series you typically don't have to worry about having 3 QBs.. The oline has been a problem for years. When did we last have a solid online? It's been years.
This was billed as a matchup between the league's two most physical teams…and it was true.

However , there is physical, and there is PHILLY physical. Tough as we were, we had no answer for Riddick and his bud plus Mailton (LT) and his crew.
It goes to show just how weak the NFL has become. We went head to head with these birds and their guys were just meaner, faster and LOTs BIGGER.

We still are the 2nd most physical team in the NFL , but the difference between us and PHILLY, physically, is substantial.

Need to shore up the R side of the OL regardless of who we have at QB.

OLine is a league wide issue. NFL has created something they are trying fix with BS roughing the passer calls etc.
the way Eagles were sacking Qbs especially early I'm sure every team they've played up until they played us are at least on their 2nd or 3rd string qbs.

Ummmm, I think your anger with the Football God's is a bit misguided in here. LOL

They demand a sacrifice in order to stop torturing us. That sacrifice is your account!

And banning me too. Love it!

I disagree big-time. We are definitely more physical than Philly. Their corners are not physical, their linebackers are not good at all against the run as well as their whole defense, AJ Brown is great but the rest of the receiving core is not physical, their tight end is whatever but they do have great physical offensive and defensive lines.

The Niners have way more physical players than they do on offense and defense. Just because the Niners got beat on a few plays early doesn't mean anything because Philly couldn't even average 5 yards a pass attempt against us and 4 yards a run as well. So they're physicality is definitely worse than ours considering what we had to deal with this game.

His injury thread evolved from just posting player injuries to a much more broad and wide ranging discussion that touches on pretty much everything 49ers.

Pretty cool thread, if you ask me.

What relevant year is tops on that list for us? 2020 with 4 ACL Injuries? Well,...let's delve into 2020 then...

Starting with Solomon Thomas,...that was unfortunate and unexpected.

Then the other 3 and I'll add in an honorable mention @ the end:

2. Mr. DPOTY:

|

3. Ronald Blair:

|

And then we have a couple Injury All-Americans....

4. Jalen Hurd

|

Oh yea,...although no ACL tear, that Honorable Mention for 2020 was Mr. Ford
5. Henry Ford:

Heck....KC gave us a deal on him to BEGIN WITH because he was damaged goods.

|

|

Conclusion:

What do we have here? We have Solomon Thomas,...then at least 4 or so guys here like this. Guys that were WELL KNOWN to have injury issues in the past, but were not shied away from them and if anything, took the discount that was available to get them.

Well...this has been pointed out TIME and TIME again,...that the 49ers do not shy away from players with injury histories and roll the dice.

The 49er's Objective post-draft year after year is clear:

Iron Sharpens Iron, So bring the 90 most talented players you can find and squeeze them all into a training camp, knowing that guys will go down.

So referencing charts like this as if they tell a tale IMO is another case of already being given solutions to the test, and searching for the questions.

We already KNOW this staff rolls the dice, and sometimes you end up with a Jalen Hurd or Dee Ford,....while other times you end up with a CMC or a Bosa.

If their gambling history with injuries (as it relates to success) is any indication,...I can only ration after looking at this chart and the fortune we've reaped during this time span that, hey -- please -- keep the ACL tears comin'!!

This next draft they're going to gamble yet again because they've shown year after year (Purdy anyone?) that they're good at it!
