- Familiarity. If you had season tickets, you knew your "neighbors" in the stadium. Levi's doesn't have that yet.
Of course a new stadium is better than an old one - better engineering, better views, better technology, better amenities. I don't think that can argued. But gameday (at least for me) is much, much more than the glass, metal, plastic, and concrete structure. YMMV.
gonna have to disagree, i hate cold swirling wind

Aside from not being in SF and the new stadium not having history, stadium for stadium, there is absolutely nothing better about Candlestick than Levis. Period. People are so caught up in nostalgia, that they hold onto past memories and glamorize them. I was a season ticket holder at Candlestick since 1990, and am a current season ticket holder at Levi's. The quality of one versus the other isnt even close. I would love to hear people's reasoning for preferring Candlestick to Levis that doesnt include city or history.
I agree with you in terms of facilities available, bathrooms, and food. But there is still plenty of reasons to hate it. Traffic in Santa Clara. Heat, etc.
The heat issue can easily be fixed, but Jed needs to pony up some money. It's obvious this stadium was more designed to be in Hunters Point, rather than Santa Clara.

not sure it will do well as Levis is very open and HP is very windy

In the future, it may be hot going into October. It was 88 in Buffalo and 90 degrees in Green Bay on Sunday for Al Gore's sake.

Levi's has some major traffic issues. When the stadium is full it can take 45 minutes to an hour just to get out of a parking lot. At the stick I was on the freeway in 15 minutes. The parking at Levi's has improved because not very many fans are coming to the games. As long as that continues (likely) then I guess the parking will remain improved at Levi's since the team is terrible.

How did the Titans fans survive without shade on Sunday?!?!

We had a homefield advantage at Candlestick.....when we were good. People forget during the bad times, Candlestick was empty too. But again, people glamorize the Stick and try to claim it wasnt the case. It was. There were plenty of seasons where we had tons of visiting fans come to games, and it was when we sucked. Just like now. If we start winning again, people who own seats will make more of an effort to come.

I dont.

Weather....I agree with you. I preferred the Candlestick weather to Levi's weather too. But people forget we had a couple incredibly hot games a year at Candlestick too, where people were hiding in the shade.
Vibe....sure, but again, the people and the atmosphere at Levi's suck because our team is terrible. If we had a good team, I wholeheartedly believe this complaint would not be valid.
Tailgating....I dont know man. I have just as much fun tailgating at Levi's as I did at Candlestick. Candlestick had multiple lots too. Main, dirt, park. Dont see how you cant walk around and make friends at the multiple lots in Santa Clara. Plus, there are a lot of NFL stadiums where there isnt just one lot.
Familiarity....dont see how this is a complaint. You said it yourself. Levi's just doesnt have it yet. And that comes with ANY new stadium. It will change over time. Do I miss the crew I sat with at the Stick for 20+ years? Absolutely. But times change and you make new friends.

People who live in Tennessee are more used to 100 degree weather than people who live in Daly City. Not sure why that even has to be stated.

Location is bad. They should've built in either Oakland or San Francisco. Most people that like the new stadium are closer to it but for most fans in the east or north bay it's about a two hour drive.
It should've been centrally located in the Bay Area. Even public transportation is lacking. You can't just take BART to the game like Giants/A's games.
The architecture is lacking. It looks like a college stadium. Compare it to the new stadiums other teams are building and it looks even worse.
Food/drinks are too expensive. Gouging fans like that is almost criminal, especially with seat "licencing" and a poor product on the field the last two years. Fans need a price break somewhere. Charging for parking when BART doesn't go there is 100% lame.
The sun is too hot in the South Bay. Most people in Oakland/San Francisco area (close to the coast) aren't use to 100+ degree heat. Their bodies aren't acclimated. Drinking alcohol in the sun like that is dangerous too. I bet many people are in the stadium, just not in their seats.
In short, wrong location, wrong architecture, wrong prices and wrong weather. If I owned the team I would've fought tooth and nail to build in SF or Oakland by the port on the water.
If they built in Oakland by the water I'd have season tickets and would be there every game. Rain or shine. Win or lose.

90% of the parking lot at the stick weren't so lucky as it took some a hour or more to leave the lot. That's why a lot of people stayed and just turned on the grill for post game tailgate
Could be true with lesser crowds today. I park near the stadium about a few hundred feet away and can get out pretty easily. I haven't seen that much difference since 2014

I went to Packers @ 49ers in 2014. Full stadium. Parked in one of the main lots by the main entrance.
We got on the 101 in about 15-20 minutes that day.
I'm not a fan of Lev's, but getting out of the lot on that day was surprisingly easy. I'll take the Stick any day though.

I lived in Nashville. It didn't hit 100 once in the years I lived there. Your max temps are usually low 90s. Every few years it jumps up to over a 100 but I wouldnt say anyone is prepared for it.
