The NFL won't let the refs discuss plays and blown calls. The last thing they're going to do is give coaches the ability to override the refs on the field.
The league puts a huge ass shield over the officials and they're not held accountable for anything.
It's a joke.
Part of the problem is that the NFL is too stingy to hire the refs full time.
They have full time refs now
They have 21 full time out of 124. That needs to still be a higher %.

This...how many times have we gone through this?
Seems like it's been about 5 years now.

4. The Niners have a discipline problem. San Francisco racked up 10 penalties, the last of which was the most crucial. On a third-down conversion following an onside kick recovery, Taylor was tagged with a questionable offensive pass interference penalty, pushing the Niners back into their own territory and out of contention.
Yeah... it's the 49ers that have a problem. Bite me NFL.
Yeah, I don't get what their point is. We had issues with penalties going back to pre-season, true. Taylor did nothing wrong tho, even the article states it was a questionable call. If anything, we found our discipline in crunch time and were about to win the game until a bad call hijacked it from us.
Someone pointed out something in the Gameday thread....he said notice the Rams sideline, from their body language, made it look as if there was no foul on the Taylor 3rd down convertion...Normally a team would be jumping up and down and screaming for a flag...the Rams were not ..Did anyone catch the sideline reaction?

Was looking out for the same thing myself. I didn't catch any reaction from the sideline, and most telling was there was no reaction from the DB begging for a call. He got beat, the ref bailed them out.

Serious question. Does PFF or anyone grade refs performance? Would love to see some grades on these clowns.

Why would they run a play clock if you couldnt call a delay of game on kicks? You guys must be new to football to ask such a dumb question.

There was rightfully no delay of game on the onside kick. Went to NFL Reddit and somebody quoted a rule that says when the kicking team starts running the play has technically started.

I agree. I usually laugh at the 49ers ineptitude the but refs' incompetence needs to be addressed. This is embarrassing. How can a sorry team like the 49ers even compete when they're facing superior opponents and the refs?

Yeah me.
A new or other angle may prove me wrong, but that initial view did not show anyone on the Rams' sideline reacting the way one would if there was even the smallest hint of offensive PI.

Yeah, that was a horrible flag to throw that late in the game.
Yup. Ball is on the Rams 39 if that stands. 1st and 10 with plenty of time. Gould gets a chance to win the game if not for that call.
That DB was playing the deep route. You can tell when the safety comes down to pic up Garcon. 23 can't get beat deep, so he plays back. NFW is that even close to a OPI. Its a perfect pattern and a 1st down.

yeah that was crazy. Offensive PI my ass.

This was a really bad call. What made it worse was that it was the last minutes of the game. The refs highhandedly decided the outcome of the game.
