Yeah, I agree - would rather just pass on Cousins and go with Beathard or a draft pick going forward. Cousins is going to command $30M per, that's a little too rich for my blood.
Mayo, if he's worth it that's one thing. But if you saw his first game... you would have had tears in your eyes. Man he had a rough outing. That is the worst i have seen him play....and not by a little either...it was by a lot.

It was weird... Dude looked like he struggled all game but he still had a great chance to make it a really good statistical game before throwing that pick in the end zone. That's what sealed it as a pretty bad game.
Anyone watch his game against the Rams? Probably not since we played at the same time.

Yup, at the last moments the local channel decided on the rams, not the 9ers . So i got to see him ...and he had a good game. Looked confident, was on target, looked like Cousins from last yr. Maybe game one was a throw away. Whatever, he wasn't dialed in and last weekend ...he was.

i would be really happy with kirk. then use the number one on a great wide out or offensive lineman.. or trade it, as i am sure it will be a top 3 pick,, and use it to fill the multiple holes we have now and the ones we did not think we had before the year began but do..

I tend to agree with you here. But, what is the long term plan? I mean, I won't claim to be a KC expert, because I have not watched enough of his games. On the stat sheet he looks pretty good, but do you think he can lead the team to a SB (using $ and draft picks to surround him with talent)? I suppose if Dilfer can do it (surrounded by talent), KC certainly should be able to.

I don't think he'll be the highest paid QB, but near the top. Unless he's gets WAS into the playoffs and/or the SB.
True... That's the only way. I've been saying this all preseason. The only way I'd want to sign kurk is if he tanks this year and realizes he does not deserve to be the highest paid qb.
At the look of things it will be impossible to sign him for that amount of money (even though he may still want that )

I like what someone else said about going with beathard , drafting a QB and going after the top WR FA , that's a start for offense and leaves much Mula to be spent elsewhere

Haha...nope. Probably just another cciowa claim that nobody has REALLY made, shoving it down his throat.
BTW, Cousins will be lucky to put up top 15 numbers this year.
Don't say this to NYniner
Now here's the big question:
If he doesn't put up top 15 numbers, will he still go for $30M a year?
From a players point of view, if I were him , knowing that my last couple years stats have been the ONLY reason for even being considered a potential top paid QB,I'd try to Brock osweiler a team, for sure !

NFL's 2 top-rated centers: 49ers' Daniel Kilgore and Raiders' Rodney Hudson. Neither has allowed allowed a single sack, hit, or hurry (@PFF)
