do not tell me this defense is top 15 again., they are terrible. bowman needs to go and i do not give a s**t how that sounds. he is done. he has been done . pass rush is not there. the secondary is terrible like many of us knew it would be. the team is sloppy. and makes way to many mistakes. they are 0-3 and we may win one game. do not tell me about moral victories. that is for losers and suckers. this team is terrible and it was a disgrace they could not touch the quarterback. and all the drops and penalties. they are losers and that is the way it is
Looking at the snap counts, Lynch and Doom got onto the field for 14 and 10 snaps respectively out of 67 snaps. There's a reason why we had no pass rush, our pass rushers barely even played.

That pretty much tells you that we were losing the early downs and couldn't get our specialists onto the field. If fatigue was the factor (and it definitely was), then Saleh has to consider expanding his early down rotations. There's no point in keeping your pass rushers fresh if you can't even get them onto the field. Looking at the first three games, our DL snap counts are totally messed up. For all the talk about rotating and keeping guys fresh:

Buckner 181/216 snaps (84%)
Armstead 173 (81%)
Mitchell 138 (64%) wtf why is he playing so much?
Solomon 129 (60%)
Tank 71 (33%)
Lynch 44/149 (30%)
DJ 51 (24%)
Doom 48 (22%)
Cooper 14/67 (21%)

This really is going to be an ongoing problem because Buck and Armstead specifically were not drafted for this style of defense. Lynch and Tank are much more natural fits and they should be playing more early downs, both guys are solid in the run game. Buck, Armstead and Solomon can all move inside to get Lynch and Tank on the field more. Mitchell is playing way too much, he should be splitting snaps pretty evenly with DJ.

oh and it would appear our number one pick is not what the powers to be thought he was

All absolute garbage. Trent's was icing on the cake for the night. Triplett's crew is garbage and always has been! Even Aaron Donald's penalty was sh*t! 2 weeks in a row we have been treated unfairly. Great teams I guess overcome that - we are not a great team yet.

Even the NATIONAL sports media is saying how the 9ers got robbed of a CHANCE to win. Also they're going ON AAND ON about how the Rams have "arrived"

Part of that was because it felt liked they ran a hurry up all game keeping our base players on the field. Smart coaching on their part recognizing how much we sub from our base to nickel players.
We basically gave the Rams everything they had.. I think we really need to start offering teams players we see not developing... players who other teams believe that can help them..

Staley
Ward
Reid
Armstead
Bowman
Tank

This^

As it would at least make the team rebuild entertaining. Also we'll win a few if we play like that week in & week out.

This game reminded me of Walsh's second season. Steve DeBerg was still the QB but Walsh's offense was entertaining at least.

Holy crap that's ridiculous to give Elvis and Lynch that low of snaps. I guess the plan was to stop Gurley but at some point in the game when you see Goff just chillin in the pocket carving up the defense, you have to get Lynch and Elvis in there. Thanks for pointing that out.

talent/ the defense is garbage,. the secondary is crap and was crap in pre season but we were told. oh they will turn it on once the regular season begins. we probably have the worst linebackers in the nfl. get bowman the hell out of here, tough love but who cares. and no pass rush after so many breathlessly declared we would have a field day last night. oh man. top 15 defense,. best front 7 in football. but yes all will be right again when foster returns. lol.

Let's see, we need:

1. Shut Down CB
2. Franchise QB
3. Speed Edge Rusher

So the 3 most expensive hard to find positions are the ones we need. Just great.

Don't forget that dominant big bodied unstoppable ZWR either.

All needs but it's interesting that getting a top FQB allows the WRs to look better and also makes FAs more likely to sign. On defense a top pass rusher makes the DBs look better. So in reality the team needs to replace Aldon Smith and Joe/Steve...it's been a while.

The team does need to improve the cornerback position but shutdown corners in this league are few and far between. And like you said, improved pass rush goes a long way towards helping the corners.

I also dont think we need a tall WR per, nice to have but not a necessity. NFL history and long since shown you can have continued success in the red zone without that guy. WR is another position we still need to get better talent at.

thats on the head coach. can not spin that in a positive way. just setting around while we get carved up. just like the coaches let joe carve us up in the super bowl while having willis and bowman set around playing checkers in pass coverage. one day we may learn

See Auden Tate - Florida St.

This coming draft as it stands now (according to Prosports). This makes it interesting if they can sign Cousins...five potential top picks out of the first 65? Lots of room to maneuver...listening John Lynch?

1st: own
2nd: own, Saints (0-2 so far)
3rd: own, Chicago (0-2 so far)
4th: own, Steelers (2-0 so far)
5th: own
6th: own
7th: Chiefs
But yes, Rams have a legit shot at winning the division. They have first round talent everywhere that's been developing for a while and made a ton of smart FA signings and with the offensive scheme and talented QB, Seattle is probably freaking out.

This is NOT the same old sorry ass Rams.

Eh they couldn't beat an average Washington team and barely beat a bad 49ers team. Lets not get carried away.
