The barrage of ghost/jet action was so annoying. I knew it was going to pay off big for them later in the game.

You can stay patient and accept that there will be a lot of growing pains or completely freak out and believe that every player is a lost cause after a handful of games.
I've been patient with some of these players for three years minimum. I am not freaking out after 3 games, but it is what it is. If they maintain this current trajectory after 16 games, I only see maybe a couple of cornerstone pieces on this D for the future. Buckner is the obvious choice. Some of the other ones are debatable.
And yes, your rebuild will get set back if you don't have guys that produce. This is common sense. Bad players in this league generally stay bad. You don't magically get good after 2-4 years in the league unless you are a statistical outlier.

- Vs Seattle: Seattle looked TERRIBLE. Their o-line is TERRIBLE. They allowed pressure and dropped key passes; their running backs and wide receivers aren't any good. That's why the 49ers defense looked pretty decent up there. Case in point is allowing 41 points to the freakin' Rams at home the following game.
- Vs L.A.: This game looked to be over as soon as it stated. Sure, the Niners kept hanging around but it never really felt close. The Rams were moving the ball all over this newly crowned improved defense from the get-go. Then, they got complacent and let their foot off the gas--that's when the 49ers mounted the comeback. Sure, a comeback is somewhat admirable but, in my eyes, it was far more a combination of L.A. letting up on them and a few lucky bounces that went SF's way (early fumbled punt, the late fumbled kickoff, the onside recovery). And when it counted, the 49ers STILL couldn't get the 2pt conversion to tie it or the last drive to win it.
The penalties, crucial mistakes, and general ineptitude of the offense are worse than I expected; and I only pegged this team to win 5 games. That seems out of reach. I think I'm most disappointed in Shanahan. He doesn't have this team prepared or inspired to play. They lack leadership and discipline on and off the field. I expected a young team that would make mistakes but be well prepared and fired up. The fire isn't there. I expected an offense, albeit VERY minimal in the talent department, to show some signs of life and some innovation in the playcalling department. Last night, Shanahan's first call was the same short slant that Hoyer has had no success with. He's continually calling the same passes short of the sticks and, I get it, they don't have the protection...but can we get a little more creative in the running game and in the routes he's calling instead of this quick rub slants and comebacks? It looks like the same offense we've seen for years.
I'm not buying the fool's gold. This team has a long way to go before I see true progress. Last night's late-game onslaught when the Rams took their foot off the gas, and a decent defensive showing against a bad Seattle team aren't going to cut it.
0-3 is 0-3 any way you slice it.
39 points is progress. The first play was junk but the offense showed fire after that and played until the refs took the ball away.
It took TWO fourth and goals to get into the endzone on the goal line. That doesn't seem like progress and if we're not already in a lost season, I doubt they go for it on both downs.

We lost at home to an average St Louis team. Some of you guys need to raise your bar. The perfect 2 wins to 6 wins to playoffs to championship trap is what you fell for with Nolan. It wasn't until 2 coaches and a GM later where things turned around.
Shanny has to create an environment now. There's no throw away years even if we do only end up winning 4 games.

We screwed up a fourth and goal against Carolina. Would have had a TD that game and not had to hear all the "NO TD'S!!!" for two weeks.
Seattle had a crucial fourth-down conversion last week.
Sometimes you get it, sometimes you don't.

Los Angeles. And they might be above average this year.
Also if the refs didn't suck we would have won. Fact.

Yeah, it looked to me like that was on Fusco more than anything. He turned his back to Brown and wasn't even positioned correctly to move out for the block. All he did was get in his own team's way.

Yeah either that or Brown shouldn't follow his man towards the middle of the field knowing that he has a guard and a center trying to get outside of him. He's a big dude and is an obstacle for opponents and teammates. I don't know what's supposed to happen there. Just know they shouldn't collide.

And if they didn't muff a kick, blow an onside we would of got blown out. That's football. They beat Indy who sucks, lost to average Wsh, and allowed our sh 39 points. I'm sticking with a 7-9 win team that might win a weak division.

Can't blame that game on the refs. We gave up 41 points. Goff threw for almost 300 and 3 tds. Gurley rushed for over 100 and 2tds 1 rec. The refs did not do all that damage and we missed and xp

We're allowed to play the what if game for "almost getting blown out" (is that even a thing?) but we're not allowed to play it for almost winning.
You people are hilarious.
Also 9 wins is above average.

- NFL Pick 'em
This game revealed some encouraging things.
- The offense got into some rhythm for the first time in the regular season.
- Multiple weapons were involved.
- The team fought to come back despite being down by at least two touchdowns, pick six, and several injuries .

Some parts of the game were ugly, but overall I enjoyed the game more than any game the last 2 years
