I didn't want him.....God dammit
John Lynch probably surfs Webzone for advice.
I didn't want to neither.
But, a truckload of Webzoners did, just not me. LOL.
I thought DeMarcus Ware gave him the full lowdown during offseason on how to rush the passer? Not much use huh?
You wanted Trubisky. A guy with one year starting in college. The 2018 QB class is much better.
Mitch could end up being good but I'd say it's less than 50/50. I think Thomas may be able to play up to Justin Smiths level in a year or two. We do need an edge rusher and that will just take time.
Baalke shouldn't have drafted Armstead. I don't think we'll offer him a nice contract after his 4th year.
If we get Cousins we'll probably draft a DE first rd. If we don't we'll probably go QB then try to get a DE via free agency or first rd 2019.
I think Lynch was concerned with our historically bad run defense. Not sure if you watched last year but we were dominated every week.
I wanted Fournette for immediate impact given it was such a high pick, but I would have been happy with Trubisky too since we still don't have a FQB.
I just knew Solomon Thomas was the wrong pick from the get-go.. Everyone knew what the issue was and we were all forewarned about the "tweener" issue which is proving to be the case now.
I don't buy the argument that Lynch was worried about our run D as the brief was always to upgrade the pass rush. To date, we are still trying to play him as an EDGE.
It is not working out, is more than obvious.
Thomas is not like Foster who is a 1 and is working out great. Thomas is not even a starter and he is the No.3 overall pick in the draft?!
Not looking good my friend.
