Good, we got a plan), Eli, AA, Buckner, Thomas? Carradine got hurt late in game 3, Foster isn't a pass rusher.

PH, spot on. The hope I have for Thomas is that he's more suited for interior rush. Would love to see him develop into a Donald clone. Did you see how he rag dolled Fusco on the last play where he got to Hoyer...what is up with Lynch?? The DBs don't get the rush they need to play man. Saleh better figure this out soon, or else. Too bad about the injuries, but I'm looking forward to Foster coming back. Bowman needs help. Armstrong is not getting it done.

I didn't want him.....God dammit

John Lynch probably surfs Webzone for advice.

I didn't want to neither.

But, a truckload of Webzoners did, just not me. LOL.

I thought DeMarcus Ware gave him the full lowdown during offseason on how to rush the passer? Not much use huh?

You wanted Trubisky. A guy with one year starting in college. The 2018 QB class is much better.

Mitch could end up being good but I'd say it's less than 50/50. I think Thomas may be able to play up to Justin Smiths level in a year or two. We do need an edge rusher and that will just take time.

Baalke shouldn't have drafted Armstead. I don't think we'll offer him a nice contract after his 4th year.

If we get Cousins we'll probably draft a DE first rd. If we don't we'll probably go QB then try to get a DE via free agency or first rd 2019.

I think Lynch was concerned with our historically bad run defense. Not sure if you watched last year but we were dominated every week.
Lynch our best pass rusher is sitting on tha sideline yet we have tha tank done nothing his whole career starting

I wanted Fournette for immediate impact given it was such a high pick, but I would have been happy with Trubisky too since we still don't have a FQB.

I just knew Solomon Thomas was the wrong pick from the get-go.. Everyone knew what the issue was and we were all forewarned about the "tweener" issue which is proving to be the case now.

I don't buy the argument that Lynch was worried about our run D as the brief was always to upgrade the pass rush. To date, we are still trying to play him as an EDGE.

It is not working out, is more than obvious.

Thomas is not like Foster who is a 1 and is working out great. Thomas is not even a starter and he is the No.3 overall pick in the draft?!

Not looking good my friend.

No question about it, Aaron Lynch is without doubt our best pass rusher.

I think the plan against the Rams was to stop the run and all cost and make Goff beat them through the air. Unfortunately, an unhurried Goff in his second year is better prepared to do that.
We need a pass rush.
We have more run stoppers than a Pepto Bismol factory.

me neither. Any idiot should have seen that he's not a future probowler. He prefers to play inside at 276lbs and doesn't possess true pass rushing moves. He's fast as hell and he has "all the tools" but he's not a great football player. I wanted Derek Barnett (he went to phili) or Allen (he went to WAS). Drafting either player is a "reach" but those players will be better than Thomas IMO. But of course, I hope I'm wrong. I want this team to succeed.

You would think that given Solomon Thomas can't rush the passer.

But, as many run stoppers we have, be it more than a Pepto Bismol or Lomotil factory, guess where we rank in run D? 25th or let's say 23rd since the Dolphins and the Bucs are yet to play their week 1 game.

In other words, sorry to say, we can neither rush the passer nor stuff the run as we stand unfortunately!

would have jumped so hard on the Allen train. That shoulder arthritis really f**ked him over. Would have been a top 5 draft pick for sure.

Both Allen and Barnett are busts. They combine for a total of zero sacks. Thank god we dodged those bust bullets.

Yep, spot on. Solomon Thomas is a lot of things, but he is just not a pass rusher.

At the 3 spot, the other pass rushers would have been a reach, but they definitely would have been better pass rushers than Thomas. Plus, you don't force yourself to take a player just because there were no top pass rushers after Garrett. We could have gone offense too.

Relying on inside rushers like Solo and AA to turn the corner on NFL tackles. That's the biggest problem. Let Solo and Buck work from the inside and AA or Jones can rotate in on certain situations.

That's a good plan. And Lynch needs to step up/get activated.
