He did not play well. Looks like a typical rookie. He will learn from this. But it's hard when you don't have a line to protect your back.

They did. They allowed 10 points in the first half. Then they kept the team in the game through the middle of the third. Offense left them out to dry by doing zilch and having a Pick 6 in that time. Then they simply wore out in the 2nd half because they'd been on the field all day.

Watson got drafted into a great situation with a playoff caliber roster. The 49ers are not close to that. Any QB behind that OL today was going to have had a very bad day.
