Watson just tossed a 60 yard TD to fuller...

Real QB guru in Houston.

Just tossed a pick-6

And he has an excellent o line protecting him.

Lol you guys will saying anything to protect this regime. Watson threw a pick 6, but he's also already thrown for 130 yards against the Seahawks and has lead 2 td drives in 3 attempts. That's impressive for a rookie going against that defense. You guys praise Beathard if he manages to throw a pass that is within 5 feet of its intended target.

Some posters were hating on Watson coming into the draft. So, it shouldn't be of a surprise that they are downplaying his exceptional play. Too bad we passed on him, but that shouldn't be a reason to hate on him.

Watson with the 49ers is not the same player as Watson with the Texans. Houston was a playoff caliber team before Watson showed up, a roster absolutely stocked with talent. To claim that somehow his level of play would translate the same on what amounts to an expansion roster is quite silly.

He may turn out to be a pretty good quarterback, in the end the 49ers might also wind up with a pretty good quarterback, whether it be Cousins or a rookie like Rosen. But they'll also be further along in their rebuild and hopefully will have utilized their available resources to putting a together a much better roster than the one this year. There isn't a QB in this universe who would have thrived behind the 49ers OL today.
Douzable had himself a game!

I don't see anyone hating on Watson. I see people being perfectly reasonable in their assessment that Watson fell into a great situation with a playoff roster which is to his benefit as well as the team. He wouldn't have that situation with the 49ers. He wouldn't have Will Fuller or DeAndre Hopkins to throw to, he wouldn't have a playoff caliber defense backing him up, he wouldn't have an offense where everyone around him has been running the same scheme for years. He's a good young quarterback that fell into a perfect situation for a good young quarterback. Good for him. But he is utterly irrelevant to the 49ers at this point.

They will have to build their roster to be able to support a quality young QB and judging by the way Beathard had his face kicked in today, that wasn't happening this season. Watson wouldn't be looking like the same guy while having to constantly run for his life with far more limited targets to throw to.
Is the Raiders losing 34–14 in an East Coast game to a worse opponent worse than us losing 33–10 to a better one same time zone?

Yup

This is why drafting well is more important for Shanalynch.

Though their past relationships can also help in free agency as it did with Garcon and Jusczyck this offseason.

2nd TD pass for Watson
Sherman getting his ass beat all day LOL. What it would be like to have 2 in their prime receivers like Hopkins and Fuller. With both elite speed and great hands.

In case you missed, there's an NFL gameday thread for non-49ers games.
