IMO, barring the Skins making Cousins an absolutely absurd offer, he's gone (and likely going to SF).

Beathard has a long way to go before he's ready to become a quality NFL starter. OL issues aside, his footwork is a mess and has been since Day 1. He routinely throws behind his receivers, even when he has time in the pocket and has a tendency to hold on to the football too long going back to his college days. You can't completely excuse his issues as a result of the OL. He comes with a lot of warts and I'm not confident that he ever amounts to anything more than a decent backup. I hope he gets the rest of the season to show what he can do but my guess is that the 49ers are dropping a ton of money on Cousins in the offseason or they are using an early draft pick on a quarterback.

You can evaluate a QB, even if their OL isn't perfect. Good QB's will still flash, will still make big plays and throw accurately with good ball placement on a somewhat consistent basis. Poor QB's, well, they will further exacerbate the existing OL issues.

I pretty much just want Cousins not bc he's a great qb but so we can trade back in the draft and take hella linemen. Id rather have a rookie qb learn behind Cousins later on and a decent oline. Dont want a rookie with instant pressure and unrealistic expectations behind a terrible oline.

I think they have to drop some dough on experienced, quality veteran OL. Most of the OL coming out in the draft aren't ready to contribute Day 1 so you want to add some experience, especially at center.

Thomas has an MCL sprain, will likely miss 3-4 weeks depending on the severity. Staley got cut around the eye, who knows how long he is actually going to be out.
