We have 125 million in cap space next season.

Still doesn't make sense to spend $30 million of it on one player in a season where we aren't going to be competitive anyways (next season). If we had more talent, I'd be all for bringing in a very expensive QB to make us a playoff contender. I'm rooting for the Redskins to tag him again so we can bring in Cousins as an UFA in 2019 without wasting cap space next year to go 7-9.

This is how the browns think...why spend any money? I like the way our extra cap room looks.....

What position? a rebuild? yeah we are rebuilding. Which is why I expect us to draft a QB high and either let him play early on or sign some low cost vet till hes ready. Signing Kirk doesnt really help, too many holes to fill to justify the spending. We will waist his time here not being ready. Same situation 2-3 years from now you sign him every time.

Shanahan's entire scheme is heavily dependent on the OL. There wasn't much to be had in free agency this past offseason and the draft class for OL was the crappiest in recent memory. I expect them to prioritize it after the season and bring in at least 3 or 4 new guys via FA and the draft.
