Its a random nameless, faceless QB so you know for certain they won't be a bust like over 50% of first round QBs turn out to be. Garoppolo can't perform at a high level with a jacked up ankle and s**t blocking so clearly he's gotta to go.

This. One Hundred Percent. Good to see some reasonable posts in this thread.

Yeah his mechanics are f**ked up completely. I think that the Super Bowl Loss really f**ked with him mentally. He isn't the same guy this season. I understand he has a ankle problem but you can clearly see he doesn't have "it" either.

Everyone knows that every player can bust in the draft. No one said it was going to be easy. And yes, with this front office picking in the draft, they could very well pick a bust. But you are not even going to give yourself a chance with Garappolo at this point. No, I don't believe any of that ankle bs.

Shanahan was hiding his limitations behind his scheme and today it backfired. That's all there is to it. You want to get a QB who has more upside than this, and preferably on a rookie contract.

Meh. An ankle didn't miss a wide open Aiyuk and throw it directly to a Seahawk.

True. That was just a poor throw. Kittle broke in and he threw it behind him.

And that's my prob with Jimmy. I'm with you when you talk about our bad OLine, but Jimmy can go from great to "wtf was that" in an instant and often does it throughout a game.

With Shanny I don't think you need an absolute elite QB (it never hurts though) but you do need someone reliably consistent.

Even pre-injury Jimmy was inconsistent.

Coach/QB is a marriage that needs to work if the Coach/QB aren't elite and at the moment it feels like Jimmy is sleeping on the couch.

Divorce feels imminent. How quickly it comes will depend on if Kyle likes what he sees elsewhere.

It's a combination of a lot of factors. Rotating C/RB/WR. Jimmy regressing + the ankle injury. Some Shanahan playcalls that went bad.
I'm done with him. I supported him. I rooted for him. He just isnt the answer. I blame him for the loss. The team looked deflated after that interception. They just spiraled after that.

Its extremely difficult to hide the limitations of a QB playing on one good leg. I will agree that he shouldn't have been out there. Shanahan was able to work around his lack of mobility and lateral movement issues for a few games but its not sustainable. His ankle is clearly not right.

Sit him, let him rest, bring him back towards the end of the season when hopefully more of the offense is healthy and see what he can do and then make a decision on whether or not you need to draft a QB after the season is over.

Jimmy was a quarter away from being a Superbowl Champion and the most likely Super Bowl MVP... But sure he doesn't give you a chance at this point.

Look around the league. Herbert. Burrow. Lots of young blood coming in. Garoppolo is not playing up to his contract. You'd much rather have a young guy on a rookie deal so we can bring our cap down and afford players. Especially if Shanahan is just gonna keep hiding Garappolo behind his scheme and making him hand the ball off to Deebo/Aiyuk/Kittle on Jet Sweeps, and have him throw behind the LOS for screens.

Its hard to tell right now where we'll land on the draft next year, so we don't know if a QB is getable. It will be much easier to land a great QB if our draft pick is high. But the first step is acknowledging the mistake. Then we can see how this FO wants to get a solution

We're gonna draft anywhere from 8-18, most likely. A QB will be there.
Can Shanahan stop fooling around if he's got a lingering ankle problem? Even if we are all led to believe that there is a mountain of issues before we blame Jimmy solely, why risk your qb his health if he's not 100%?
Trade him back to NE

From the worst defense in the league. makes no sense.

Same s**t happened to us last year. They came into the game against us last with a pass rush everyone said was garbage and suddenly we couldn't pass block for hell. Don't know why we keep making their trash D look good.

But to be fair Jimmy missed guys with no pressure. Just off today.
