Ever since they fired Jim Harbaugh, they have been intent on getting rid of all the players associated with him. Blame that on Trent Baalke because it was downhill from there.

It's going to take time to rebuild but you don't rebuild a decimated team in a couple of years. It would be a major improvement if the 49er's can go 50 50 next year even.

Draft picks only have value if the person doing the picking knows what they're doing. Do we really even want more picks? The last thing this team needs is a roster full of Solomon Thomas's. I mean, we had the 2nd overall pick in this last draft and still failed to turn that into a quality player, so I don't have a lot of faith in the draft at this point.

Yorks about to have a couple of 2-14 seasons and an 0-16 on their resume

As bad as the Giants are, they're nowhere near as bad as the 49ers, and there's not a single other game that's a remote possibility on the schedule.

The patience preaching is one thing, but going 0-16 is another. Shanahan has been beyond disappointing in his first year. When 5 wins is out of the question, you're doing something very wrong as a coaching staff. The Jets have won games for christ's sake.

That's the only way I see it happening.

There should be clause in the coaches contracts that if they go 0-16 they get fired with cause and don't get the rest of their money.

But I've been reading niner talk and I've heard that coaches have 0 impact on whether a team goes 0-16 or not.

which would set us up for another disastrous season never being able to catch up with ourselves because we have to keep starting over when fans cry about the record in a re-building year.

And no team has ever managed to be good in the NFL without first going 0-16. Even if coaches did have a clause in their contracts like that, it would have affected only one other coach in league history and that coach was fired anyways a few seasons later because he was bad at his job.

Also, it's funny that Martin Mayhew would be a part of both teams that went 0-16.

nope. never said that. but not helping by starting over a 3rd time in a row instead of toughing it out for the long haul.
