Will we compete for a Superbowl next year?

Does a hobby horse have a wooden dick? Of course we will, we have K. Shanahan and Jimmy. Only team in the NFC that worries me is the Eagles, need a offensive line to neutralize their ridiculous pass rush. And the Vikings if they acquire Kirk Cousins, that's a scary thought, even for A. Rodgers.

IMO, this FA period is a big step and will set up the draft.

I'd like us to pick up Sitton [sp?] FA from Bears to bolster the OLine and FA Butler-CB from Pats.

Two guys who are experienced and plug & play.

There are more FA we could get but I think we can get them in the draft.

exchange Maxwell for Butler and we're in agreement. I would also like this team to sign another top guard that fits Kyle scheme or go after Lewis from the Patriots.
Dont we compete for the super bowl every year?

Not when Brian Hoyer and C.J. Beathard are your top 2 QBs. But with Jimmy, everything has changed obviously. I get your point though.

Good call!

I like Hubbard as a swing G, C, T in FA.

I'd love for us to get Isiah Wynn or Hernandez in the draft and be set for 10 years at G.

Agree Maxwell would be better than Butler.
Our roster will be better than it was in the last 5 games in which we went undefeated. We had a good draft last year and will have a good one this year (imo). Free agency is kicks off soon and we're already off to a decent start.

Yes, we will be in the playoffs and compete for a SB appearance...will we get there, and if we do, will we win?? Let's pump the brakes for now

Well, for both you all, pdiz and Wally, we are getting a good start on FA with RS at CB. Not my favorite player but if healthy , why not. Now we got our CBs. Finally. Let's wait but I really like the idea of Norwell , even with a crappy $12mil per contract, more if needed. That is all pro, fixes the center of the OL, and whoever we get at C (not Kilgore) to start, Norwell instantly makes him better. Then we still need that other OG. I love the Sitton idea, not so sure if Jensen or richburg are better or not. My impression is they played ok. But were they outstanding? That I don't know. Still with a starter at OG, C and OG...plus CB covered now(I hope), then we are lacking Mr. Chubb(probably gone unless Cleve takes 2 qbs in picks 1 and 4...there's always hope...or someone else gets premature QB-it is). Most likely EDGE is where we draw a blank, but if we can fix OG/C/OG and hopefully just fixed CB, then we can work on EDGE later in draft and getting 2 LBs. That would make us whole and we have to coach up our EDGE pick in the top 60-70.

The alternative is that between our 8 starting DLs, we finally may have a foursome that brings the heat and negates the need for an EDGE. That remains to be seen but unquestionably, the strongest part of this team is the DL. And they will only be better this yr. Plus we got AA back from surgery and maybe that makes him a force on the DL. I feel a DL this yr that is way better than last . Can they pressure the Qb without an EDGE? IDK, but maybe.

I think the Norwell to Giants is a done deal from all I've been reading.

I also think Browns will go Barkley w/#1 and the best remaining QB w/the 4th.

I'd light candles in church if we could land Chubb so I won't hold my breath.

After last year's very good draft, I'm more than excited and confident JL/KS will have an impactful draft.

FA is upon us and my gut tells me that JL/KS have a few more blockbuster deals in the works.

I haven't felt this good in a long time.

Go Niners!!

Agree. The Dick Sherman signing blindsided me and knocked me for a loop. ShanaLynch isn't messing around! As Doc said, interior line and depth at Linebacker and we're set and ready for the draft.
Yup Giedi, just wish it weren't TWO LBs. oh my. But, the team is starting to take shape. Man would i ever liked to have been there when they were going over RS's MRI of his Achilles. I'm no expert, but it would make me feel better to know what exactly the "Health" issue was with RS according to SEA. I hope it was just financial but they had an out if his Achilles wasn't up to snuff....or that was just an easy out for them. In the end....i hope it was the latter.

If his Achilles holds up, wow what a coup. Unfortunately, we are going to have to know quickly if he can stop on a dime, cut, backpeddle, jump start , rotate...all in a big hurry. If not, then we are back to square one. Somehow it seems we are protected financially if he goes south, but we aren't fixed teamwise. We gotta get another starter who will be a backup. Easier said than done.

Don't be stupid. No.

A good season for us will be 500 seriously. We have a lot of problems and once the tape starts coming in on Jimmy everything will get harder. But I trust shanny to keep the game plans inventive. And I think we're starting to get some good people on the field. So eight and eight next year will be great and I wouldn't be surprised if it happens

Somewhere in the middle
If Philly & Minnesota can, why can't we? We have the better QB, HC & GM
