No because the original 4 won without Rice. And the original 4 cover the most parts of a team: Admin, Coach, Offensive Leader, Defensive Leader. I don't think Rice was ever the primary leader on offense. When Lott talks, people shut the f**k up. Don't get that sense with Rice. Rice wasn't able to calm Haley down. Eddie D didn't go seek help from Rice.

I don't see how you have a greatest of all time list of anything, let alone 49ers, without Rice. I mean....C'mon man.....

If a HOF ballet came down to one spot left and it was between Rice and Lott, who gets picked? Of course, Rice.

Can you mention the history of great safeties in the league and not name Lott? Yeah, but it would feel incomplete.
