That's it. Those are the 4 that started it all.

Rice was great but he came after the mountain had been built.

lol how are you going to disrespect Ronnie Lott like that?
agree. you put lott on there way before young.

No, you put Lott over Gore.

Young literally won us a Super Bowl. We only have 4 rings without him.

IMO this list shouldn't include coaches, execs, or owners. They can have a separate Mt. Rushmore.

Eddie D, Walsh, McVay, Policy
Reggie Roby, Mike Cofer, Chet Brooks, Terry Kirby

He should be a HoF. The fumble does not change that.
But here, he would have a case without the fumble. that fumble kicks him out of this.

Walsh, joe, jerry, ronnie.

Walsh vs eddie(eddie financed walshs' genius)
Joe vs steve(4vs1)
Jerry vs no one
Lott vs BY vs johnson vs dean
If we're talking players only, how about we make sure those SB MVP's make it on first?
Montana
Young
Rice
Lott, Dwight Clark, BY, or Gore IMO
Aldon Smith
Ray McDonald
Bruce Miller
Reuben Foster
T.O.

Montana
Rice
Lott
Young

All personnel
Eddie D
Walsh
Montana
Rice

I agree. Should be player only exercise. Montana/Rice/Lott/[space for rent]

Steve Young is probably my favorite player but he didn't do anything when compared to Joe Montana. He is still HOF legend but Joe Montana is/was a 49er.

Steve Young is/was a 49er too lol. Didnt do anything compared to Montana? Wut
Young won a Superbowl but those who missed most of the 80s, Lott was the backbone of this team. Not just as a player but in every sense of the team. I would even consider him at the same level as Montana. Lott was something seriously special.

Young and Lott are the two players that definitely made the players around them better.

Lott was the back bone of the 49ers even when he was a Raider

What? By that rationale Roosevelt and Lincoln wouldn't be on the real Rushmore.
