3 or 4 months? Are you out of your cotton pick'n minds?

Here's an in depth breakdown for ya....

The 49ers announced Monday morning that they've placed linebacker Fred Warner on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Further details are not available, but Warner's placement on the list does not necessarily mean he has tested positive for COVID-19. The list is also for players who've had close contact exposure to symptomatic or positive individuals. If this is Warner's case, NFL policy dictates that he isolate until the results of a virus test are available. Teams are not allowed to disclose whether a player tested positive for the coronavirus.

If Warner has actually tested positive for COVID-19, the timetable for his return to team activities depends on whether or not he is symptomatic, per league guidelines.

If Warner has tested positive and is asymptomatic, he can theoretically return in as little as five days, provided he tests negative for the virus twice in a 24-hour span and is cleared to return by the team physician.

If Warner has tested positive and is symptomatic, he'll have to wait at least 10 days after COVID-19 symptoms first appeared before his return can be approved by the team physician.

This flow chart illustrates the various possibilities at play under the NFL's COVID-19 protocols:

That's from my boy Lombardi

FWIW Jeff Wilson was placed on COVID list July 30th and came back Aug 4th.

Lol I was wondering if anyone would bite on those.
I don't understand how they can get results from tests within 24 hours but still can't confirm whether a player has the virus or not. These tests aren't totally accurate which is obvious from the false positives that we see. There are also false negatives which makes the entire testing process kind of silly. From what I've read the results can depend on how much virus is present when they perform the test and it can vary from day to day. This makes the testing harder since they don't always get that swab far enough up the nose to detect the virus. This thing is really tricky. Even players that don't show symptoms can spread this thing so until a player tests negative twice over the designated time period he's still quarantined. I hope we don't start seeing a lot of positive tests (false or otherwise) because the whole season could get screwed up just by the tests.

They're trolls
The only way Warner would be out 3-4 months is if he got a bad case and had lingering symptoms. There is no indication of that. Unless he tests positive again he'll be back in a week or 2 at most. He could continue to test positive and not get any symptoms. If that happens I guess they would continue to hold him out since he would be contagious.

I'm pretty sure people are being sarcastic with the 3-4 month thing.

To be fair, no one is traveling yet.

But, yeah, the league is doing a good job keeping this under control so far.

He will have almost 2 weeks to recover worst case (if he tests positive but he may of just been in contact with someone) and he's an I - tallion tank that eats lightning and craps thunder. So I think we're good
