Good thing we dont have to choose between the 2 of them.
Everyone in front of Fred for DPOY is a defensive end. I get that sacks are sexy (also sacking the quarterback) but come on! This guy should be in higher consideration for DPOY. I also know that our very own DE Nick Bosa won last year, but there was no LB I would have put ahead of him. Is there still a chance he can do it?

CB Daron Bland has better odds that Warner . Everyone else ahead of Warner are "sack" guys

He probably needs 2 more sacks, INT's, and forced fumbles to really be in the conversation. He's had a great season, just a lot of guys putting up huge sack numbers so far this season in his way though.

Defense is difficult. Sacks are much easier achieved for pass rushers.
But teams can throw/run away from linebackers, cornerbacks, and safeties. Deion Sanders in his prime can perfectly lockdown a WR, but conceivably not show up on the stat sheet because they don't choose to throw his way.

So it's hard for Fred to get INT's if they don't throw to his zone. Tackles are a little easier though to rack up, but voters don't value tackles as much as they do sacks.

Reminds me of when NaVorro Bowman should've won in 2013. Just like MVP is a QB award, it seems DPOY is for the sack artists.
Am listening to Fred's podcast today and he mentioned that Dre Greenlaw LOVES to bodyslam opponents to finish tackles.

Well s**t, lol.
Comparing Warner to Willis is like comparing apples to oranges.

Warner is the Mike in a 4-3 D with a lot of ground to cover and a lot and I mean a lot of coverage responsabilites. If he doesn't get 180 tackles per season is because he has to drop in coverage a lot of the time because we can match him with receivers 1 on 1 on open field and being the Mike he has to cover the #3 receiver in those bunch formations when the offense has its fastest receiver as the #3. Just remember the play when he ran to the LOS and then dropped back to cover Lamb 30 yards deep in the post route in the divisional game that is probably the most imprerssive play by a linebacker that I've ever seen.

Wills was an ILB in a 3-4 D playing in his half of the middle of the field where he was a freaking beast against the run and against the pass and a monster at tackling and he was perfect for that system but he rarely had the coverage responsabilites that Warner has now that's why he was a tackling machine and the fact that he played in a 3-4 means that he had more oportunities to tackle the RB in the second level of the defense.

Warner is perfect for our current 4-3 D. Willis was perfect for that 3-4 D. Stop comparing them.
Per The Warner House, Sydney is pregnant. Fred is going to be a Papa!
I dig his Warner House podcast. Had no idea him and his bro played together in college and how good his brother was (serious injury derailed his career ) .
Fred has been great but Myles Garrett should win the award this year.
I said during the Bosa contract negotiations that Fred Warner was our most important defensive player as he's the leader of the defense while acknowledging that based off last years DPOY candidacy Bosa was the best player. The best player isn't always the most important player as can be said of most offenses where Brock is the most important player while acknowledging that at this point of their careers Trent is a future HOF best player

As much as I'd love Fred to win it, Bland does have a better chance, 5 Pick Six's is amazing.

He's about to get torched against Buffalo. I'll give him the 5 Pick six, but after DK destroyed him. DPOY don't get slapped around like that.
