If Malcolm Smith is healthy, I think we'll be fine the first two weeks while Foster is out.

Agree

Game 1 is against the Vikings and they are an excellent team.

Warner played well and I'm really looking forward to seeing him in the next preseason game to watch for improvement.

If Malcolm is healthy my guess is Smith and Coyle start. Against a very good team, on the road and week 1? I think they go with the veterans.

I'd rather have the kid in there who doesn't seem to whiff on tackles like Coyle does on a regular basis.

coyle is horrid
Should move Smith to Sam and start Smith Coyle and Warner.

Warner was more impressive then I expected.
He looks good so far.

Lol. Dude looked great last night. In the off-season predraft when I saw you pumping his name out there, I hadn't looked at him a whole bunch up until that point. When you watch the college film, the instincts and atheletic ability pop right out to you.

He's got all the tools to develop into an above average NFL linebacker in this scheme. Good call Hero.

while lynch continues to be hurt for the bears with his april hamstring thing. this kid was the best pick in my opinion of this draft
A few notable plays from Warner's debut vs Texans:

Tackles on back-to-back plays. Freddie is learning to play stack LB, and you can see growth in the mental processing in just back-to-back plays as he keys and shoots his windows faster.

One of Fred's greatest qualities coming out was his ability to defeat blocks with violent hands. In fact, I evaluated every draftable LB, and Freddie was hands down the best at using his hands of all LBs in the draft.

Reub and Freddie on the field together. Freddie cleans up after Reuben. This is a no YAC zone.

This is an interesting play. Fred is playing overhang like he did in college. I need thl/jd's help here. Does Saleh usually put his Mike in the alley like this? Anyhow, Freddie keys the RB, stays home and square, squeezes and gets in on the tackle.

Hero, I can't say that I've noticed the MIKE (Coyle) lined up outside of the tackles last season. Definitely an oddity. It looks like they put him at his college position on that play.

Really like that play where he hand fought the LG off. There was one other notable play I saw from Warner where he met the pulling RG in the hole, at the line of scrimmage.
