Why is putting a talented player at WILL a waste of talent? It's an important position that is set up to make plays.
Because scheme apparently.

As long as both of them are set in the middle so they can go sideline to sideline. Don't want one relegated to only a third of the field.
Oh they'll both be around the middle enough where they can flow to the ball regularly. And on passing downs they'll each patrol a Hook zone (in most cases) which puts them in the middle of the field.

Derrick Brooks will be interested to learn that his talents were wasted playing the weakside.

That is literally the scheme the 49ers are running.

When Malcolm Smith is healthy (could be soon), he'll be part of an extremely talented and fast LB corps playing alongside Foster & Warner. They'll give Saleh a lot of options...looking forward to that. In the meantime, FW has already shown he's a force to be reckoned with. Baldinger's said he was the most impressive rookie he's seen so far. Gotta love Warner's leadership, speed, instincts, etc. Pretty rare in any rookie. Great pick in the 3rd rd, IMHO. Also like the signing of Garvin, who has experience in the 4-3 under. We should see him on Sunday.
Gonna love saying that "I told you so". So here it goes:
I told you so that he was gonna play the MIKE. And when Foster returns Warner will keep the green dot.

Anyone else think Warner should trade jersey numbers with Nzoka or whatever his name is?
Warner would look sick wearing 53, dude can have 50, and Coyle could get cut or take 48.

I like that Warner is blazing his own trail. 48 isn't synonymous with any LBs for me. Fred is making it
his number.
Reuben did the same with 56.
