It must hurt Tim Ryan deep down inside to have to play along each time.

And since I don't like Tim Ryan, I LOVE IT! Keep doing it Greg!

Now THERE'S an announcer. Our crew is really …ummm…what's the phrase…."needs improvement" ? Honestly, just hard to listen to. That's odd, also, because so many fans were delighted when he took over for Ted Robinson, who i liked. Maybe it was just the loud minority?
trey area is such a stupid nickname

Completely agree. I hope they do some focus groups or polling cause if he is going to shout that out every time, it's going to make me cringe.
Pappa knows his football but the problem is that isn't his job. He also may know what's hip but the problem is that's not his job. He just needs to stay within his scope when it comes to doing the color.

He does try too hard to be the old guy who thinks he is still cool, but why are we hating on that? When all of you get his age, I hope all of you are as young at heart.

Had to be. Papa is awful.
If you were at the game, they were showing E-40 on the Jumbotron. So when Trey "Baby Kap" Lance threw that bomb Greg Papa decided to shout out E-40, Trey, & the Bay Area all at once.

Papa get's his game from E-40 & Too Short.

Step y'all game up so that you can see when Papa is representing the Yay Area!

Papa does it the right way #GPstreetcred

I like Greg Papa the mind, the historian. He knows more about the history of the 49ers than maybe any announcer we've had and it's nice to have someone actually know what they're talking about when breaking down the action on the field. The only problem is his touchdown call is just gif awful. As soon as I heard it I hated it. Just like the 300 chant.

Where as IMO Robinson wasn't as knowledgeable about that and the sport itself but he was a way better announcer.

I was on record for wanting Papa and I think looking back that it was a mistake.

I think the solution when listening to Papa announce games is to cheer very loudly when the 49ers score a touchdown so that you don't hear Papa's call of the touchdown.

I don't mind the touchdown call or the chant, as it creates unity at the stadium.

i can understand why, but I don't listen to the radio broadcast so i don't get tired or annoyed of Papa that much

it's not a bad call.. the crowd doesn't mind repeating it at the games

It's a 300 chant? What are they saying?
I like Papa.. but unfortunately, I don't love his TD calls. The "Trey Area" thing definitely made me cringe a little. It is what it is.

I understand the San-Fran-Cisco thing is a tribute, but copying another announcer's call cadence? It bothers me. Takes away from the uniqueness.

I know we could do a lot worse, but man, we could do a lot better too.
