He's doing great. We're fortunate to have him. He's not Starkey, he has his own style --and I like it. He puts it all out there.

Starkey is still under appreciated, even within the 49ers community IMO. His voice WAS 49ers football, every bit as much as Montana and Rice. I was really disappointed that he chose Cal over the Niners, although I understood based on the travel schedule. Whenever I watch that Patrick Willis pick 6 in Seattle I think of how cool it is for Willis to have a TD that Starkey called, complete with a classic "Oh what a Bonanza!"

Papa is fine, but hes goofy. His voice is known for Raiders calls, and his 49ers TD call is kind of corny. He's better than Ted Robinson I guess, but I wouldn't be heartbroken if he was replaced at some point.

I can't wait to listen to Papa's calls and reactions to this game... especially the blocked FG and punt.

I wonder if Papa misses being part of the Raider Nation? No way he would say in public, but I wonder what he would say behind closed doors.

He is still alive and does Cal games

I am sure he could fill in for a nine game here and there
