So what's the strategy here? You cut this guy and pita starts?

I get why they like pita as he flashed several times but if your going to end up with him why wouldn't you have him start the dress rehearsal 3rd game?

Not too optimistic about this guy. Eli Harold was nothing special, but at least he was 4 years younger. This guy is 28 and has yet to do anything of note in the league.

Got him and Lee battling for the last LB spot. Gave the nod to Lee due to Pita, Watson, Marsh and Attaochu.

Lee & Nzeocha could be in a serious battle for the last roster spot in that area.

Nzeocha's spot appears to be safe. Nobody else besides he and Pita have played SAM in the preseason. I can't imagine them heading into the season having guys play SAM on the fly, irrespective of how trivial the position may be.

The only way I don't see him making the team is if someone is unexpectedly cut from another team, like Bruce Irvin in Oakland.

He didn't get many reps yesterday with the Colts living in 11 personnel (from what I've charted from last year the Niners always play nickel vs 11 personnel) but Mark Nzeocha put together a tidy performance at the SAM linebacker spot in his first start (thread starts here)
