My goodness I saw this play last night and thought the same thing. I think it's Cover3 and Ward is oblivious to the #2's release.

Right?! Does this look right to you, thl? Threw this together real quick.

wtf is the Safety doing?

It was DJ Reed shaded to the field side. Mahomes moved him.

Jimmie Ward is the real culprit.

The middle safety will shade over to a certain side based off of gameplan. I guess he wanted to shade over to the 2WR side here. This route combo is a horizontal stretch on that middle safety with a Stick-nod route to each side. Safety commits hard to one side so it's an easy throw to the other. Ward not gaining any depth made it even easier. Had Ward gained some depth he would have been a little closer to get a better view of the TD catch.

btw I haven't spoken to jonnyd this week. I watched some of the plays I was curious about when watching the telecast live, but I'm still too butthurt about Jimmy's knee that I didn't watch the all22 of the entire game.

I honestly don't know how you could possibly review plays of JG from the game knowing he blows out his knee in the same game. just depressing. honestly I'd prefer just an overall summary from both you guys to read about at this point.

Ultimately, these two guys at the top don't cover anyone. When one Chief player goes into the flat and the other into the end zone, our guys back off into no man's land. They're closer to each other than any Chief.

I'm no guru on this subject, but it looks to me that all Jimmy is doing is collecting a paycheck.
Only play I want a gif of from this game is the one where Juice runs the option with I believe Brieda. I've never seen that. That was a real good call.

That was a fantastic play design for sure.

That was awesome. I think Breida might have been mad at himself as he cut outside but inside, he had a blocker and easy path for a TD. And we all know what happened after that.

All 22 confirms this.

Thats hilarious. Ward should write a book, How to pretend to earn a living. The kc receiver zig zags to fake out the zone defenders into passing him off but he doesnt need to. They do it voluntarily. Too funny.
