You can give some credit to our Defense creating some pressure, but the play-calling really exploited our coverages. The throws were 100% there for him to make. I see a lack of pre-snap diagnosis and absolute timidity in the pocket. Carr has to be done in Oakland.

Thanks as always for the film breakdowns. This is my favorite thing about the WZ

Um .... What pocket?

Here's the Mostert TD run in the 3Q. The 49ers had run one end around all game, Goodwin got 2 yards. 21 personnel vs base 4-3

Celek lines up wide then motions in and aligns with a very tight split. The SS is aligned with outside shade on Juice.

This is the box before Celek motions in.

This is the box after Celek motions in. The strongside DE widens to cover Celek in this Over front. The blue DE sliding over gives more room to McG who is now clearly uncovered, with the playside to the offense's right. The SAM now joins the box and has contain. MIKE has strongside A gap. Richburg is going to block the SAM on this play. Somehow.

Goodwin begins the fake end around. SS still has outside shade on Juice.

But the SS peeks into the backfield and has now lost outside leverage on Juice. The SAM and WILL also peek into the backfield.

Celek and Juice wall off. McG with no DE near his right side at the snap, easily pulls to lead.

The MIKE is immediately behind the play as his A gap is quickly moving away from him.

Richburg gets to the SAM. Tomlinson crosses the 1t and gets to the MIKE. Two excellent blocks made possible by the fake end around.
so basically a good play.

No, a great play made possible by the speed and agility possessed by our O-Line. People here clamour for certain players and are upset when the FO don't take them, this is why we want scheme fit guys. Trust the process.

Are you guys no longer doing the individual game film threads?
Makes it so much easier rather than searching for which page the newest game starts at.
Just wondering! Appreciate all the work you guys do this is by far my favorite thread every week!

It is a lot of work and I think the posters who were mainly doing it have got somewhat demotivated. Which is a great shame. Huge thanks to THL for his work here. Great stuff.

Agree. Thats a lot of film and knowledge to go through every week. At 2-7, its got to be hard for these guys to continue to put in the time.

Hats off to thl. Best thread on the zone. No question.

Dat Ass thread begs to differ.

and

id rather look at film breakdowns instead of asses any day of the week. you guys are losers

LOL. Race you over there?

you're raceist

I'll cut up some plays but may not watch the entire game to try and piece together gameplans or tendencies. If there are any plays you wanted to be reviewed, just post the description.
Show us the crossers. I want to see all the glorious crossers.

Was the telecast saying this a lot? What's with the crossers
What was going on concept wise that got Kittle wide open on the ball that was overthrown in the first half. It look like it was wide open.
Anything from our final drive would be appreciated. We used power blocking instead of zone blocking from what I read. A breakdown of who did well with the power game would be interesting, with Richburg in particular since he's been getting pushed back alot this season.

Doug Baldwin postgame:
"We were seeing a different defense than we saw two weeks ago. And so we had to make some adjustments. I tip my hat to the 49ers and to their coaching staff because they had a good game plan."

Since I didn't watch the first game from all22 I don't know what's changed. I'll find some plays where the 49ers didn't play Cover3 and SEA ran an unsuccessful play.
This was a timely stop because SEA had opened the game with a 9 play TD drive. RJames quickly returns a kickoff TD and the 49er defense is back on the field again. This is the 7th play of their second drive and are on the edge of FG range. It's 1Q so maybe fatigue isn't setting in yet, but it's a lot of plays in a short time.
3rd & 7
49ers show a Cover1 look with CBs pressed up, 1 deep middle safety, two LBs sugar the A gap.
SEA running Sticks concept. There is no defender lined up over the #3 WR (yellow). So if it's man coverage, a quick pass to yellow at the first down marker would move the chains. If it's Cover3, work the Sticks, yellow to orange - horizontal stretch on DJReed.

At the snap, 49ers rotate to Cover2 zone. Now progression is red to orange - vertical stretch on Sherman. But orange is a far, dangerous throw. Take the checkdown.

+4. Punt
