2. O-line just as bad as last year? Made a Anseh-less Lions defense look like the Vikings
3. Wide receivers not getting open
4. Awful red zone play and no well put-together drives; benefited from a huge kick return and Breida's TD
5. The serious confidence they over-achieved with in the last 5 games this year is now the reverse--they're playing even worse than they are...like a team that's scared and is no longer buying into their own hype and, instead, realizing "hey, we're really not good".
6. Injuries, injuries, injuries

Can we also talk about how much they had to rely on Stafford over-throwing and Lions receivers dropping the ball? That bailed them out A LOT.

This is a really BAD team.

Looks and plays like a Mike Nolan six-win team. The front office and staff need to be scrutinized for doing almost nothing other than lucking in to Garoppolo who looks like he'd rather be elsewhere too.

We got bailed out by penalties too. JG threw a really bad pass at a crucial time. The Lions pretty much beat themselves.

Yep. And let's also pepper in the Lions being on the road--halfway across the country--, on a short week.

I had faith with MckInnon they could get to 9 wins--mayyybe 10. After he went down it felt like 8. After the VIkes game, it felt like 7. This knocked it down to 5 or 6.

My guess would be that the offense has more to do with that than the OL. Last year he gave f**k all about blocking, he had a worse OL, he was letting it rip because he wasn't thinking since they were running a very rudimentary offense. Go watch Matt Ryan with the Falcons in 2015 and there were the same complaints from Falcons fans that wanted Shanahan canned. "Ryan doesn't look the same, he's freezing up, he's not throwing it as quickly, he looks worse than ever...." I think it is a by-product of a guy still getting comfortable with a complex offense.

I have no doubt that is the biggest factor in all of this.

Wow man, it really does feel that way

Something needs to change quick or before we know it the season is lost. Maybe getting Foster and Goodwin win makes a difference

They caught up because of bad penalties too.

You think we win less games now, after winning, than you did after losing last week?
We survived the Lions. For me to say that is just sickening.

You also have to factor in Patricia had plenty of knowledge of Jimmy G.

Let's wait and see how the next few weeks play out before rushing to judgement on the season win total one way or the other.

All fine and good but let's remember. Goodwin NEVER had a healthy season in Buffalo and he's left his past two games in SF with a concussion (week 17) and the thigh injury in the first 10 seconds of last week.

Foster is on the turf constantly too.

They need to build this roster around players who have at least shown to be healthy. You can't count on these guys. If they are healthy, that's a bonus, but operate as if these kinds of players (Malcolm Smith, Goodwin, Foster, Jimmie Ward, Armstead) aren't part of the future.

Yes. Did you watch the game or see how it unfolded?

I'll repost all the aforementioned reasons why this game looked awful.

If you don't want to take my word for it, see the post-game where Sherman said "this feels like a loss"

f**k we dropped SO much money on guys who are not playing or playing to their potential. It's a punch in the gut

We got ppl here that saw shanahan's Atl offense put up 30 plus with ease and expect that right away here, In jimmys first year as a starter, a new oline, and one of the most complex playbooks in the nfl.

I sure did. The Lions were able to get back in the game. They are a much better team than they showed against the Jets last week. Marvin Jones is a very good player and would be our best receiver.

Yeah we need a better pass rush, no one will deny that.
Oh, one more thing. Thom Brennaman is horrible. I sincerely hope he isn't calling any more 49ers games because that was atrocious. From a shoddy understanding of the rules, to getting players names wrong(Fred Taylor?) to making some absurd, hopelessly nonsensical statements, it was a complete s**tshow from what is supposed to be a professional broadcaster. He needs to stick to baseball.
