The team rallied after their opening loss last year, I hope they do the same this year. With a better quarterback and better defense, we should win some games.

if we see the same things next week.. for one the kid should play and aa should be benched
To which kid are you referring?

I agree with a lot of the points made, my summary:
1) A 9er team not yet ready for prime time, but on the way toward it
2) D took a big step up from last year, played well enough for us to win
3) A lot of unforced errors by the O, yet we were still in it to the last posession
4) Jimmy G has to be good with not being able to walk on water and quit forcing the ball to make things happen, just chill Jimmy and let the game come to you
5) Gold star for #47 Elijah Lee who stepped in at the end up the game and nutted up to answer the call
6) Pass pro flat out sucked at times, seemed like Jimmy G was holding on to the ball just a few clicks to long waiting for something to happen
7) Gold Star for #48 Freddie, looked at ease wearing the green dot, made a lot of tackles and played well
8) Kittle is not our long term answer at TE, just not a good enough athlete in the receiving game IMO

I'm still amazed each game how guys just get schemed wide open. It's refreshing to see.
Also, Kittle was a drop away from a 150+game. Looking like a matchup problem.

Lots of good things came from this game.
These are the perpetual concerns I had:
* Crucial penalties
* Injuries
* Tons of (untimely) drops
* Undisciplined
* Poor tackling
* RZ offense
* All defenders with their backs to the QB
* Dropped INT's (3)
* Wrong cleats
* Losing the TO battle
* Personnel decisions: Mitchell, Ward and Coyle over Jones, Reed and Lee
Young teams continually shoot themselves in the foot but in year 2, this crap needs to stop.

this is all true. and it does not make you a sky is falling guy or a dark side cc guy in my opinion. all legit. do you think kyle deserves blame for playing calling at the goal line to? the dc did not teach the guys how to tackle better in the off season it would seem.

On the Kittle fingertip miss, that was the first time Kyle called that TE throwback since he's joined the 49ers. Never called it last season. He saved it for over a year and when he calls it, it fails. Looks like Kittle is going to be a featured part of this year's offense.

Coaching is front and center in all of my concerns. This week, Kyle and Saleh are probably saying, "Where do I start?"

He's going to HAVE to be a featured part of this offense--all the TE's must be.

Nice....I was wondering when he was gonna finally show this. It was listed as one of his 15 go to plays in the lead up to SB52

Sure, he almost did. But that play was more about the great coverage than Pettis pulling a Vance McD. If he had caught that ball it would have been more impressive than the TD he did catch.
Agree. The DB made a great play on that ball. Sometimes, you just have to give credit to the DB - that play wasn't on Pettis IMO and would have been a great catch for the TD if he came up with it.

Not sure about that. Excellent concentration but had both hands on it tucked into his body but not strong enough to hold on throughout once he hit the ground. Good defensive play too as he had his arm in there as well.

Don't forget the run game sucks. If teams dont respect the run, they will put pressure on Jimmy all year.
