They aren't really regressing so much as just crawling in place.
Once they lost so many offensive skill players - players meant to keep possession of the ball to help alleviate a defense that lacked talent at pass rush / pass defense - the season was headed this way.
The good news is they'll be able to turn all these losses into Bosa and they'll be overspending like crazy to bring in free agent CBs, Safeties and edge rushers.
I expect 4 ERs, 4 CBs, and 4 Safeties brought in during the offseason, minimum.
? It won't matter!! Bosa isn't gonna be much of a difference on a team with a bad DC and HC how isn't good at being a complete HC, a HC who don't like to run the ball even when the run is working. Bosa may help, but there are personnel changes (on the player and coaching level) that need to occur in which the HC should have a reduced role in.
