And then Shanahan tells him he is under contract and walks away.

Both GB and AZ jobs would not come with play calling. Not much changes from his job here if he leaves, save for a meaningless job title. Staying offers him a chance to continue to learn and grow under Kyle.
Also does McDaniel even want to leave for these opportunities? Very possible that he is telling Kyle to decline.

Maybe some pop warner teams will come calling and offer some jobs to our defensive staff.

Alex is the king of assistant coach hirings but I'm told that Brayden Coombs will not be the next the Packers special teams coordinator and isn't expected to join Matt LaFleur's staff. Neither is LaFleur's brother, who is staying with the 49ers. https://t.co/J3f3xOxJi2

The #Broncos will interview #49ers QB coach Rich Scangarello for their offensive coordinator job Monday, source said. A key assistant for Kyle Shanahan since their days in Atlanta, Scangarello had a big hand getting Nick Mullens ready to roll this season. An intriguing option.
