Depends on the player. Some turn out to be very good. It is all a function of how much time they spent on technique and film study while a player. Guys that had to work hard for what they accomplished pass that on to players. Those are the guys that make good coaches.

Im guessing that an undersized WR who had the technique to put up 903 receptions will be a good coach.

yeah its not like welker was blessed with a julio jones body so he really had to work on his craft to get as good as he did.
Its crazy that Welker spent a combined 8 years with Brady and Peyton Manning, and never won a Super Bowl.
Oh great, another small little WR. Joy...

...what, he's coaching? Oh, that's cool.

Agree

Vrable, IMO, seems to be a very solid coach.

He really benefited from the BB years BUT is not trying to copy the Patriot's way.

He's putting his own stamp on it.

On the other hand, our own sad experience w/Singletary shows the lack of coaching ability.

Huh? He's already been coaching and was Hopkins receiver coach just now. Deandre Hopkins, the elitist elity receiver.

I don't doubt his ability. I just hope he turns out to be one of those guys that can transfer that info to the players. Since he was playing so recently he should at least be current on today's passing game.

I don't think he would be here is Shanahan was not convinced he could bring the knowledge. After all, Kyle is a former WR himself and has a pretty good handle on what it takes.
Coaching staff looks completely different from last year at this point lol
Guess if Wes Welker leaves?

IMO just fresh blood. Embree's son (former college WR) is also an offensive helper on the staff.

seriously lol kyle said expect no changes.. then proceeds to have his staff purged and fire a couple of coaches.
Still haven't heard anything on the Asst. OL spot. With some good OL coaches w/o jobs, it'd be cool if we could snag one of those.

This is but another of the traits kyle picked up watching BB. Bellichek has made it a point to tell media, "it isn't my job to send information your way. My job is to take information in". And that was just another way of saying that don't listen to what i say, watch what i do. Those looking to kyle for hints as to what may be coming down the pike will be sorely disappointed if they think kyle is going to share one iota of what he and John are doing. REason: why let 31 other teams and F.Os know what we are doing, planning, etc.

It just makes sense. Don't figure on kyle as any clue as to what's coming down the pike. If anything, bet your bundle on him doing the opposite, or perhaps hasn't made his mind up yet. Whatever....he won't be divulging anything to us, so just shrug and fuggedaboudit.

Reminds me of a story about Steve Kerr two years ago. A reporter reminded Kerr that he had previously said he would use a certain substitution rotation but come game time, he didn't use it. The reporter asked why he had said what he did. Kerr said, "I lied. It isn't good to tell your opponent in advance what your are going to do."

Yep. I'm monitoring that too WRATH. Would love to see some more coaching/development staff here for that.

Same.

Also, I may have missed it but Woods is a disciple of Wade Phillips. Wasn't Wade Phillips Kyle's #1 DC target but lost him d/t to the timing of the Superbowl?
