Ehh, Kocurek only has experience coaching DL. I wouldn't worry too much about that right now.

Maybe be a hot DC name for the 49ers if the defense continues to play like this. Saleh is already starting to generate some HC buzz. I find it surprising, but it's there....

Just as it is not a good idea to reward a player after a single good year, the same holds true to coordinators/HCs. Good results with good talent after one year is a meh. Good result for two or three years in a row is what is worth hiring. I don't expect Saleh to leave for a while. He likely will want to stay and enjoy the party as long as it lasts.
I thought you could block position coaches from taking coordinator jobs

Like Saleh says, the mark of greatness is measured in consistency.

You're entirely right, but I look at the hires of McDaniels and Zac Taylor and it wouldn't surprise me to see desperate teams poaching our staff if we continue to have a good year.

My understanding was if it were a lateral position, it can be blocked, but can't block a promotion. I could be wrong.

Yep, you're correct. Niners can block all interview requests unless it's for a HC job.

I remember we blocked Scangerello from going to Denver last year, but then internally, I guess they had some talks. And Kyle just let him go anyway since he was being nice.

Position coach to Coordinator is considered lateral so it can be blocked.

I'm "All-In" on that one.

This is kinda how the patriots are with their OC's. They don't want to leave the patriots and take HCing jobs. They will eventually leave but they have turned down jobs for awhile
Absolutely great coaching addition to this team

HC is the only promotion. Every other assistant coaching position is treated as a lateral move regardless of title. Assistant coach contracts are usually two years so the 49ers could block him from leaving for another year.
