Yep, you're correct. Niners can block all interview requests unless it's for a HC job.

This is lookin like a pretty good hire. What happens when this guy and Saleh disagree about something - do zombies arise from graves?

I just saw on NFL Network that Kocurek has zero desire to be a DC or head coach. He wants to be a lifetime DL coach.
Bringing in Kocurek was a blessing for this organization.

Totally agree, but Fangio said the same thing re:he never wanted to be a HC, but its my understanding that the Broncos offered him a lot of money, and whalla, he's a HC. Having said that, I think he needs to be a DC before he can jump to HC. If Dan Quinn - who was one of the worst DLine coaches the 49ers have ever had, can become a HC, heck Kocureck has 200 X more talent than Dan Quinn, he can be another Buddy Ryan - IMO.

IDK, during BW reign, we had the one best OL coach in the world, Bob McKittrick. He loved his job and really, truly just wanted to be an OL coach for the 49ers. As i recall, he kept up his fantastic coaching job Until we lost him to illness, cancer as i recall. He was like a marine drill sergeant and just loved coming to work and molding athletes into all pro players.
Why can't Kocurek be one of those. He's been around the hiring and firing of good DL coaches and probably prefers just teaching something he obviously is expert at.

Yup, but that doesn't last long because word quickly gets around the league that altho you may be a red hot HC, good position coaches and coordinators will stop coming by looking for work if it is known that you won't allow promotion jumps to other teams while you are under contract
