The previous 2 years the defense has given up 1,800 yards and this year, it'll probably end up being around 1,700 and it really hasn't made a difference in W's and L's from a rushing standpoint.

But pass rush...that's where W9 has been huge for AA, Hyder, Bosa, Blair, etc.

Yeah, and you know how most DCs are. They want to make sure they stop the run before anything else. I give Saleh props for being open to Kocurek and the wide 9. It's been a big boost in regards to getting after the QB.

I don't think there will be any top DCs available this offseason, so if the 49ers bring in a bum like Dan Quinn and we lose Kocurek, it's going to be a big step backwards.

They ran wide 9.

Cool base front from Detroit back in 2017. New 49ers DL coach Kris Kocurek was there back then... this is the wide 9 thing. Often 49ers would have one of those ends in a 5/6 tech. To have two wide 9s in base is v unusual for SF. Would be cool with Ford though pic.twitter.com/32UFgxaCEG
