Our D does well in getting sacks (top 10), but not so well in other pressure metrics.
We have a low blitz rate too.

This is GREAT info. Sheds light on a couple things. I'm banging the table for another edge rusher. I love our D-lineman currently, but I think they are all roleplayers save for Bosa. If this is the Chicago Buils, we have Michael Jordan, Jon Paxon, Horace Grant, Cartwright, BJ Armstrong, etc. We need a Pippen. We need a clear number 2 edge guy. It will be the biggest help to Bosa AND Armstead. I think Armstead is great in less space. Part of the reason for his 10 sacks in 2019 (in my opinion) is because there was NO place for a QB to run because the pressure was coming from every direction. When Armstead applies pressure himself, even the most immobile QBs can evade it. With Bosa and Armstead, it's a little bit messier of a pocket, but the more elusive QBs will still get away. If we can get a guy that can win at a high percentage on the line with Bosa and Armstead, we are going to be an all around better D-line unit than 2019. I doubt the pass rush will be anywhere near. A healthy Dee Ford, Bosa, and Buckner is just unreal. But we will be definitely better at stopping the run and will be a top-10 team in terms of rushing- across the board.
I do think the our pass D is underrated, because we are not top-10 in terms of our pass rush win rate, but our pass D is. We definitely need more help in our secondary, but these numbers bear witness to the fact that we aren't as poor as some would like to think we are.
As for coach Kocurek, I am so glad that he has no desire to be a coordinator. Hope we keep this man forever. It's like we found our Bobb McKitrick for the D-line.
