So. Much. This.

Every. Single. Year.

Yeah isn't proof of anything beyond the fact that Baalke loved dumpster diving.

Juice and McKinnon both got top end money. That doesn't sound like Lynch and Shanahan being prohibited by some sort of spending controls.

If they like a player enough, they've shown that they will go out and get them. People just get mad because this staff doesn't value the same exact players they do.

I don't think there is any comparison between the spending habits of TB vs. Lynch. As you said, TB was the king of dumpster diving. Sometimes it worked, lot of times it didn't. But he was never spending top dollar on FAs

Baalke's approach to FA was the same as it was to the draft. Go for the value. Why go in on one guy that you really like when you can pick up three or four for the same amount?

I don't believe that has carried over. Lynch and Shanahan seem to identify the players they want early and then go all in on them.

I also don't buy that either of them would have signed up for this job knowing that Marathe was going to keep the pocketbook in a lockbox. His job is to negotiate the best contract possible while still getting them the players that they want.

Agree 100%

Exactly. I can't wait for people to get latched on to two to three players this off-season and then lose it when we don't sign them.

I have a feeling its going to be dee ford and robert quinn.

And earl Thomas.

And CJ Mosely

LOL. Clearly you did not listen to it.

But OK.
Anyhow, bring on the Koc! Wait...

What part of that is actual proof of what you're claiming?

Listen to the podcast.

More opinion.

If this is what you consider evidence then you have none.

Even if you just think about it logically, it makes absolutely no sense. This isn't Jim Tomsula who was just happy to have a seat at the big kid's table and had no other HC options. You think Kyle Shanahan signed on to this job with the understanding that his player acquisition would be restricted by Marathe? The son of Mike, a proverbial control freak?

Kyle himself was a guy who constructed a long Powerpoint presentation for why the Browns should release him from his contract, picked his own GM and you think he'd tolerate some random suit telling him what players he can acquire?

I don't buy it for a second. Your conspiracy theories are fun, just not credible at this point. The only thing restricting 49ers player acquisition is Shanalynch and the salary cap.

Does that mean our DL will be injured 75% of the time?

Injured feelings

The DL deserves an assistant DL coach that also yells. Should accelerate learning.

Again, listen to the podcast.

It was a 'theory' of mine before ShanaLynch showed up...something I was going to watch with a new regime. Trends.

This is an independent account of someone not tied to the team in any way who looks at team spendings across the league comparatively.

I simply asked him if he thought Paraag was setting that limit since he knows him and endorsed his book. He believed so as well.

After you listen to it, I'd love to hear your non-49 objective thoughts.

Rivers will flood if we don't get Brown, especially with 49ers players (even ex players, Rice) tampering

Kyle said they aren't going to feel any pressure just because it's year 3.

But it's hard to believe that. They both have to be feeling 'some' sense of urgency right?
